I’m sorry… but REALLY?!
I was SO excited for this book! I don’t know if it was overhyped, but i was so let down.
I’ve read Dramione Fan Fiction with more plot and character development than this book. I just can’t vibe with a book where the main character meets someone - decides they’re her soul mate after literally 2 hours of life go by and then we never get to know either of the characters beyond how turned on they make each other. I couldn’t tell you a single defining factor about ANY character in this book.
And they only plot point I can gather is that there are evil vampires and the FMC has special blood. Why is it special? No clue. Why are the vampires evil? Still no clue. The spicy scenes weren’t even that great because I literally know or feel nothing for these characters.
Overall it was a big, anti-climactic let down for me. Boooooooo.

Wow. I’m 3/3 on bad books
This is my 3rd terrible book I bought in the most recent sale. Instant love. Mates. Bad writing. Sigh. I think I’m going to have to go to a better genre because all the newer books are rip offs of each other. This was the exact plot of “What Lies Beyond the Veil” so I wasn’t even surprised when the big reveal happened. I had already guessed all of it though the MC was ignorant enough not to 🙄

Enjoyed.
Really enjoyed this world Holly Renee has created. Also the characters have depth to them and in the audio you feel drawn in. I love the mixture or humans with Fae, and vampires. Also that only a star blessed human can make or break such prowerful creatures. Can’t wait to continue.

Decent plot with some pretty good spice
I agree with some of the other reviews that the characters lacked depth and detail. That being said I would still recommend this book. I found it very enjoyable. I would say rather than it being a bad book, it perhaps missed being a great book.
What I like the most was the decent amount of pretty hot scenes. A lot of the time if you get a good fantasy plot the sex aspects suffer. Or they go the other direction and become 90%banging. This story had the ratio just right. I also very much liked that the love interest was a bit rough. I’m so sick of bad boy characters that only do lovey vanilla! Nothing super kinky but it was just enough rough dominance to come across as passionate.
A few places here and there were scenes lacked the detail I wanted. Starting and ending abruptly when you know an extra 5-10min of detail would have made them epic!
Pretty good slow burn build up without that being the “whole thing”. Thank god I'm not waiting until book 6 for her to lose that V-card!
There are 2 love interests kinda but thankfully this isn't teenage flip back and forth And cry about how tough this is. I liked that the prince she doesn't want isn't the cliche super mean or gross or whatever. He's hot he's nice to her for the most part but she likes the other one. The shallow characters does make this choice less clear to us but I just went with she knows her own mind and isn't fickle.
Just go with the flow and don't poke holes. This could be a favorite book if you let yourself enjoy it and don't fixate on what its lacking.
Narration was good though it’s only from the female perspective.(bummer cuz I was DYING to hear his thoughts- maybe book 2🤞🏻🤞🏻)
I'm glad I took a risk and bought this while on sale. I liked it enough I would have used a credit. I'm off to download book 2 right now!

Binged it!
Loved this! Couldn’t stop listening. My first audio book with both narrators in the same chapter (as opposed to each reading different POV chapters) and I really loved it!
Also this story has me hooked! Looking forward to devouring the next two.

Spicy book with a bit o’ fantasy
Didn’t know what to expect from this one going into it and now that I’ve finished, I don’t think I’ll be continuing. I found the FMC to be annoying and whiny and it doesn’t sound like that changes at all in the next book. But I’m not a fan of books where the characters don’t know their own minds and that was all this book was.

Easy listen with vampires and magic
I gave this series a go after seeing it on Tik Tok. It was an easy listen that I knocked out in a day. I like the story and characters. Downside is the book is only 6+ hours.

What I Was Craving
Quick and spicy high fae fantasy. Just what I was wanting. I can’t wait for the rest of the audiobooks! I hope they come out soon!!!! Consumed in one setting. It was great.
