A must read/listen!

This book was so life-giving. The advice is spiritual, practical and based in scripture.
I am often hesitant to recommend Christian books on boundaries and relationships due to misapplied and out of context scripture. This book addresses that and does not make this mistake.
Such a helpful resource for those of us who have wrestled with and struggled with healthy boundaries! I cannot recommend enough.

Wow!

Probably the best book on boundaries and how to both accurately verbalize and live into them I have read. Love the way they end each chapter with insights from the counselor and the author.
Overall an Excellent book.

This book was written for the past 13 years of my life. I'm so thankful! This book is encouraging and convicting. This book was humbling and gave me so much hope. This is the book that gave me my sense of self back. Most days I felt like I was the only one who felt like this. Now I know that's not the truth. I was isolated and made to believe that I was the problem. Now I know with all my heart that is not true. Healing is going to take a long time but I am on the other side now. Thank you, Lysa! This is what I've needed. Good Boundaries and Goodbyes is an answer to prayer. A true treasure

Lysa has humbly and beautifully articulated a topic that is so needed. This book beautifully shared scripture and personal experiences to relate to and understand Why we may feel the way we do in relationships and Gods design in properly navigating them. This insight is applicable to every age and degree of relating. Highly recommend this book. Will free you to protect the best of you and be who God created you to be

Would give more than 5 stars!

This book is a must read for Christians struggling with or recovering from codependency or any sort of relational manipulation. I haven’t experienced severe trauma but decades of manipulation from a codependent relationship. And I didn’t even know boundaries could exist until I was in counseling a few years ago because I had become so deeply angry to the point of resentful. What a struggle it was to see “my person” and my relationship with clear vision. It’s still a daily act/decision to undo decades of unhealthy thought patterns and perverse twists I had been taught from Scripture.

I read Boundaries by Cloud & Townsend a few years ago, and it rocked my world, but there’s something in this book that reached the deeper, more tender places in me. I love how clearly, succinctly, and with such grace and gentleness Lysa speaks hard truths. She reminds me of my Christian counselor, and I love that hers speaks up in each chapter. She’s also the best narrator I’ve heard on Audible! Man, Lysa, if you ever stop writing, you know what your next job should be…

Will listen again and again as I continue to recover and need truth spoken and encouragement. Thank you for writing this much-needed resource!

salve for the grieving soul

I started with Uninvited, then Forgiving What You Can’t Forget, and now, Good boundaries and Goodbyes. These books paralleled my needs as the reality of what I was tolerating brought me to my breaking point. These books felt like a good friend wrapping me in a warm hug of understanding. The scriptural guidance helped me recognize where I needed to change, helped me left go of the hurt I’d been carrying, and start saying no to relational chaos.

Possibly the BEST Boundary Book I've read

Considering her Christian reach, she did the 'unthinkable' and divorced a boundary-less husband, and it was RIGHT and so healthy! So proud of her but even prouder she formulated the 'how to' book. Includes how to keep and maintain boundaries and access with love, grace and accountability! I love it love it and I think everyone could benefit from reading this !

Just What I Needed

I needed to hear this message—especially the scriptural foundation for what my heart knew was true about God in spite of the ways my betrayer used God’s word to manipulate and gaslight me and treat me with contempt.
