Publisher's summary

From the trenches of France, General Sean Courtney comes back to fame, fortune and a seat in the government. Mark Anders, the courageous young South African whom he has come to regard as his own son, returns to nothing, his grandfather murdered and his property seized by an unknown company.

At the bottom of the mystery is Sean's son Dirk, the jealous, violent and power-crazed genius whose all-consuming hatred can only end in blood....

A Sparrow Falls is the thrilling third novel in the Courtney series, continuing from When the Lion Feeds and The Sound of Thunder.

One of my favorites!! Must Read, Smith knocks another one out of the park

This is one of his best in the Courtney Series, I love the way he weaves the story to and fro as he does so masterfully.

A great sometimes unbelievable saga of suffering, death and ultimately redemption

The twists and turns outpace any other Wilbur Smith novel. Unforgettable, impressive, massive and soaring

a Sparrow falls / Wilbur Smith / Sean Barret

I have read all of the books written by Wilbur Smith, that on it's own tells a story. Since I have started procuring the Audible copies to enjoy them once more. This is the second copy narrated by Sean Barret, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and which complements the well written and researched book.

Good but not great

This was not one of my favorite Wilbur Smith books. There was too much romance for me. I think Wilbur is better with action. Also, the protagonist Mark Anders was not a very compelling hero. I preferred the other books where Sean Courtney was the central character. All in all it was good but not great.
