Great start 💚

I enjoyed this new tale from two very well versed writers I already liked. There's intrigue, action, loyalty and loss.
Narrators were easy to listen to.

Really fun book

I am almost finished and will definitely get the next installment. The story gets a tiny bit ragged in the middle, but quickly comes back together. Narrators are superb, dragons are awesome, main characters are well-developed and engaging. The world built by the authors is quite well done. Easy to immerse yourself in this story.

Love the story line!

Better than I expected. Loved the suspense even-though the outcome was predictable from the start. Can’t wait til the next book in this Series!

how dare you? shame on you for this book. you foreshadow the coolest things and put them in a second book. I was engaged in the best original story I have heard for years. I can't believe you gave it all the flavors of my favorite story elements. not cool, absolutely not... cool...

enjoyable. looking forward to next book. great narration from start to finish. enjoyed the writing but think this book is acting as a intro to the trilogy and wish that at least the 2nd book was out when I finished this one so I could continue.

This was one of the best epic fantasy books I've been able to find in a long time!! And it was free?? Kate and Mike slammed it once again.

When’s the next one!

It took a minute to enjoy the 2 narration style. I generally don’t like it but the characters hooked me and I had to learn their stories. There is a clean ending which I greatly appreciated.

Excellent story and performance

The story was great and reminded me of Brandon Sanderson. on top of that, both Michael Kramer and Kate Reading were excellent as always.

Enjoyable, if a bit predictable.

I very much enjoyed listening to this story. the performers are always top notch and they did not disappoint here.

The story while enjoyable did nothing to break the fantasy story mold. other than the two point of view characters you got very little development of any other characters. the two main characters did not have so much of a dramatic arc so much as a gentle slope. many of the major plot points could easily be predicted very far in advance, and once I understood the world, which does have an interesting and seemingly unique magic system, none of the predictions I made were wrong, nor was I ever surprised. Since I was only listening I cannot say for sure but it seems like there are a few mistakes in the editing where things did not quite line up with what had been said before.

it seems like I'm coming down very hard on this story, but I do have to circle back and say I very much enjoyed the story and will certainly listen to the second one as well whenever that is available. this is the type of story to listen to when you don't need to pay a ton of attention and you can just enjoy the ride and have fun. because if you were just looking for fun action, and enjoyment you certainly find it here.
