Publisher's summary

In New York Times best seller Allison Brennan's Cold as Ice, FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid must get into the head of a psychopath to save her family, and herself

Two years ago, FBI Agent Lucy Kincaid put psychopath Elise Hansen Hunt in juvenile detention for her role in an organized crime syndicate. Now eighteen, Elise has been released with a clean slate, and plans to take her revenge by making Lucy's life hell. The plot begins with Lucy's husband Sean Rogan, who has been arrested for a murder he most certainly did not commit.

Lucy is determined to prove Sean's innocence, but is warned off the case by her boss. As she calls in reinforcements, she learns that Sean’s brother Kane is missing in Mexico, her partner Nate Dunning has been arrested for possession of cocaine, and her friend Brad Donnelly has been kidnapped outside DEA headquarters. Lucy realizes that Elise doesn't have the resources or patience to execute such a devious plan. Did Elise's father orchestrate everything from prison? Or is there someone even more calculating seeking revenge on Lucy by hurting the people she loves?

One thing is certain: If Lucy doesn't find the answers fast, Sean will die.

Love the Lucy Kincaid books

I love Allison Brennan's books, but just like with the last book, this narrator makes Lucy sound like a wimpy whiny middle aged woman.

But the narrator....

I love all of the Lucy Kincaid books, but the narrators voice is so annoying. This was on of the best in the series.

Get a different narrator next time

The historical shrill voice for Lucy was very hard to listen to. I wanted to say calm down as much as the other characters kept saying it.

Love it

I cant get enough of Sean and Lucy and although Ann Marie Lee may be a little sappy for some she is the voice of Lucy. I actually had to skip some books because someone else was narrating with zero emotion. I'm a little lost waiting until a new Novel with Lucy and Sean is available

WOW!!!

My God! This book had me from the very first syllable. My heart hammered throughout this entire book. Allison Brennan is the Master of Suspense. Ann Marie Lee IS Lucy Kincaid, she makes this series. There several other amazing narrators on Audible, and NONE could touch Anne Marie Lee’s work in this series. This book was the best one of the entire series. I can’t recommend this book enough. It most certainly deserves more than 5 stars. I can’t wait for the next book, the suspense will be torture. I highly recommend beginning at the very beginning because you’ll be completely lost. You will have absolutely no regrets that’s for certain, and you will have the backstory and will know all the key players. I must say the Houston PD especially the 2 detectives Brennan and that bitch Mendez are undoubtedly terrible detectives and certainly paint local law enforcement in a bad bad way.

Dramatic

Great story. Love the characters. I feel the narrator is too dramatic in a lot of areas.

Awesome

I think this was one of the best Lucy Kincaid Novels. I could hardly stop listening to it last night and Ann Marie Lee did an awesome job with the voices. Great action and suspense, I was trying to work while listening but just had to finish story. Allison Brennan did a truly great job, I would recommend it to anyone.
I highly recommend that you read "Fear No Evil" (No Evil Trilogy Book 3) and the Lucy Kincaid books first. You won't know the who the bad guys and good guys are and what their relationship with Shawn and Lucy are if you don't. You would loose a lot of the nuances of the story. Happy Listening or Reading!

Great story horrible narration

Another excellent story by Brennan. However, the narrator was over the top on emotions. It was almost unbearable. I’ve read everyone of the Lucy Kinkaide novels. Ann Marie Lee ruined this audible for me.

Cold as ice

Always interesting , but this book had way to much whining. Was it the narrator or the author.
