Publisher's summary

The Silicoids are a growing threat from beyond the frontier. Launching waves of crystalline drones, they ravage colonies all along the border of the Empire. Earth has been forced to ally with her enemies against this mysterious alien menace.

Scouts have located a forward base of the freakish creatures, who plot to annihilate all meat-based lifeforms. Earth assembles a joint task force with legions of Rigellian bears, Mogwa battlecruisers, and Saurian troops. Together, they strike as one against Crystal World.

After annoying every superior in his chain of command, James McGill is the first to be deployed on the unexplored planet. His mission: to establish a beachhead on this strange, hostile ground. Surrounded and cut off, his troops fight to the bitter end against creatures made of earth, stone, and jewels.

Find out what happens next in Crystal World, the thrilling 20th book of the Undying Mercenaries series. With millions of copies sold, USA Today Bestselling author B.V. Larson is the king of modern military science fiction.

steady quality all 20 books!

I don't know how Larson does it but every book is as good as the last. Mark always does an incredible job narrating them.

McGill still has it!

Fun and entertaining story. Probably one of the more humorous books, I caught myself laughing several times. As always, the great listen.

Another hit by Larson

After 20 books this series is still going strong.

Can’t wait for the next one, as the overarching plot has been steadily moving in a very interesting direction in the last several books.

As my momma always says, 5/5

Always enjoy

I’ve never followed such a long series of books. But I so enjoy the characters. Such a guilty pleasure. Hope it never ends.

ANOTHER Great Story - Narration CRAZY off:

My 20th book in this series - Listened to every one, never gave anything less than 5 stars, but I have to give this a big ding (Mark Boyett, by far my favorite narrator), totally messed up or forgot or whatever, changed the voice inflections for 4 of the main characters in the arc of all 20 books.

Graves, totally different voice: Claver Voice (different, more hillbilly): G. Tourov (old lady like now), Leeson (just different)..... all other voices similar but the big disappointment was definitely Graves (Who plays a huge part in this story) - totally different voice.

I get it, M. Boyett narrates a LOT of books and different series that I have also listened to. I can only imagine how many voices he has to account for in his narration, but to totally be off the mark with one of the main characters in book 20 of this storyline - just disappointing. Its one thing to have to get used to a replacement narrator in total (thats understandable and business sometimes), but to have the same voices for most of the characters and be off on ones you associate with the same narrator - he just missed the mark here. Surprised the author let this go into production.

This one is okay.

As usual, the narrator really makes it work. This is exactly the same thing you've been waiting for. It doesn't break the mold, but it is classic James McGill. Not really one of the bangers in the series, especially compared to City World, but it gets the job done.

Another great McGill Story

I so enjoy all of this series. This book seems a little light in action compared to others with a lot of intertwined small stories. I have a funny feeling the next book will no doubt need this information an I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Good, but sounded off.

The voice of Graves seemed a bit different, more raspy. Sometimes I could hear the old voice, but often thought it was someone else.

Overall another good title.
