Resumen del Editor
When John Connolly burst upon the literary suspense scene in 1999, he was an immediate international sensation. His Every Dead Thing became an instantaneous best-seller in England, and here in America, his writing was greeted with extraordinary accolades. He won the prestigious Shamus Award for Best First Private Eye Novel, and, as the San Francisco Examiner wrote, "John Connolly's tale is as riveting and chilling as Thomas Harris's The Silence of the Lambs and James Patterson's Kiss the Girls."
Now, Connolly returns with Dark Hollow, a terrifying and ingenious novel of a murderous spree that reaches back decades into the victims' pasts. Back again is ex-New York Police Detective Charlie "Bird" Parker, who has returned to his hometown of Scarborough, Maine, after the vicious killings of his wife and daughter; it is time to leave the bloodstained streets of Manhattan and rebuild his family's house - as well as his own life. But for Bird, returning to his roots means digging through a mountain of terror, as memories of his father's and grandfather's untimely deaths resurface and drive him to join the manhunt for the killer of yet another mother and child. Though the obvious suspect is Billy Purdue, the violent former husband of the murdered young woman, another player lurks in this disturbing drama, someone entangled in the dark hollow of Bird's past.
Darkly atmospheric, tense, and imbued with the pause register ferocity that only the finest crime fiction offers, Dark Hollow is a stunning successor to Every Dead Thing, a testament to the burgeoning power of John Connolly to tell stories that thrill, frighten, and haunt the soul.

Historia
When the badly decomposed body of 13-year-old Katie Pine is found, John Cardinal is vindicated. It was Cardinal who'd kept the Pine case open and Cardinal had been demoted to the burglary squad for his excessive zeal. But Katie Pine isn't the only youngster to have gone missing and Cardinal is now given the go-ahead to reopen the files on three other lost kids. When another youth is reported missing, he begins to see a pattern that screams "serial killer."

Detective Merci Rayborn, young enough to be his daughter, is brash, impatient, and not someone from whom Hess wants to be taking orders. He certainly isn't planning on falling in love with her. Together, they must track down a psychopathic killer who's been abducting beautiful young women from the malls of Orange County.

For he has been chosen to make a journey back across America - and into another realm. One of the most influential and heralded works of fantasy ever written, The Talisman is an extraordinary novel of loyalty, awakening, terror, and mystery.

Historia
The living dead are more alive than ever! Zombies have become more than an iconic monster for the 21st century: They are now a phenomenon constantly revealing as much about ourselves - and our fascination with death, resurrection, and survival - as our love for the supernatural or post-apocalyptic speculation. Our most imaginative literary minds have been devoured by these incredible creatures and produced exciting, insightful, and unflinching new works of zombie fiction.

John Connolly writes books I can’t stop listening to.
I’m in my happy place when listening to the Charlie Parker series. The story is perfectly written with the best choices of vocabulary that thrill’s me.

Annoying narration
You’ll get used to the narrators voice after a while, but his annoying mispronunciation of words, some over and over, distract from the story. I found I had to go back and re-listen to passages because my train of thought switched from the story to thinking about the bizarre pronunciation of some of his words.

Just as good the second time around
This has always been a favorite series of mine. As I reread the books for the second or third time, I find they get better and better. Charlie, Louis, and Angel are three dimensional, riveting characters. The twisted takes get better each time if possible.

Another Great Parker Book With Less Than Great Narration
I’m not sure who directs the voice narration in these books, but they really should be fired. Allowing Jeff Harding to continually mispronounce names, locations, and simple words is silly. Every time he utters the name “Cheryl” with a hard “ch” sound, takes me right out of the story. I think Jeff needs a new career. His work on Every Dead Thing was equally horrendous.
The book… is good. Of course it is!

A Tense Drama
This is a great read! I loved this book...so much so that I want more stories of the main character. Going to go right now to see if there is a series available. I like it when a character so engages me that I don't want to let go of them.

A great story and reader continues the series
Connolly uses beautiful language to tell his story. Carlie Parker is a one of a kind character full of pain and contradictions. Dark Hollow is a sad story that continues the gritty series featuring Charlie Parker and his crew of deadly friends. What a story.
