Publisher's summary

The Expeditionary Force saga continues with Fallout, the eagerly awaited sequel to number one Audible-ranked and New York Times best-selling Breakaway, from an epic sci-fi writer at the top of his game. Join the millions of listeners who have enjoyed R.C. Bray’s hilarious portrayal of Joe, Skippy, the Merry Band of Pirates, and so many other unforgettable characters.

The problem with lying about having a super weapon is that the bad guys might believe they have nothing to lose by doing something stupid that both sides will regret. Or, they might just call your bluff. Either way, the Merry Band of Pirates need a plan to deal with the Fallout.

Another home run

13 books in and I’m still not bored. General Joe and Skippy are still at it and dealing with the law of unintended consequences. Alanson’s writing and Bray’s voices are a perfect match. Hopefully Netflix picks this up for live action. I’d definitely watch.

Unbelievable

Spoiler: Bishop is like a private everyone is superior and he has to do what he is told after saving civilisation countless times. Other than that it was pleasure to listen.

Amazing as usual, but it’s time for us to learn more about the elders!

The evidence that the spiders having a functioning ancient AI seemed pretty week. Either that or there are multiple types of Ancient AI’s programmed to as general AI, but hyper-specialized in a given area. The spiders are very long term goals oriented. If they do have an AI, maybe it’s a probabilities focused AI and doesn’t have access or no longer has a connection to other levels of Space Time the way Skippy does. Unfortunately we’ll have to wait for the next one.

The best book of the Expeditionary Force series so far

This is arguably the best book of the series so far but the author still walks too close to the line between “good science fiction that doesn’t take itself too seriously” and childish teen fiction. The author really needs to ditch the cliches too - especially when aliens are speaking. That said, I still love the series and look forward to the next book.

Another great story in the Expeditionary Force Saga. Can’t wait to see where else the author takes us. Oh and of course RC Bray at his best!

Time for the series to end or move on

Most of the book is repetitive of previous books, making it look like the author has run out of new ideas. The comedic interplay between Joe & Skippy is same old, same old. The author needs to take the series in a new direction or close it off at a good stopping point, of which we've had 3 or 4.

This particular book ended abruptly, almost as if the chapter got chopped off. Weird.
