Defusing a problem

There were a lot of great insight in this audiobook which I'm going to use in my coming negotiations. I have to deal with on average 40 to 50% difficult clients and this is going to be able for me to bridge the gap. Allow me to build a golden bridge 99 percent of them. To stabilize better outcomes in my negotiations.

Excellent Listen

Gets right into the purpose of the book. This will be in my permanent library. Concise and to the point. It is purposely repetitive in certain areas. However, not in a bad way. Highly recommend this listen

I love William Ury.

Would you consider the audio edition of Getting Past No to be better than the print version?

Absolutely.

What other book might you compare Getting Past No to and why?

I would compare this to a stripped down version of The Power of a Positive No.

Which scene was your favorite?

I love the phrase "Don't get mad. Don't get even. Get what you want." Absolutely, hands-down, the most powerful message in this book.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction other than the constant amazement of the epiphanies I encounter through Mr. Ury's stories. True enlightenment.

Any additional comments?

William Ury is cool, calm and collected. His material, read through his mastery on the subject he's 'lecturing' on, is simply on point. His tone is perfection and his ability to speak with influence is amazing. I'm a big, big fan of this author.

Quick and to the Point

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Book has valid information on getting through negotiations. Repeats some of the same techniques from Getting to Yes... but in one third the time.

Cringe worth sound clips

The early 90s style sound rifs were cringe worthy and took me out of the audiobook experience each time.

Learn from this one

Finally, a book packed with teaching and not just stories ABOUT negotiation. So far this is the best of six books I have read on the subject.

Absolutely Amazing!

I've always been a little skeptical on the practical use of the methods found within books like this. However, after giving it a try there actually is some validity to what is in this book. I was astounded! I highly recommend this book!
