Story
My name is Kazimir Wolfe. People call me "Kaz", except they don’t. I never use my real name; it’s too dangerous, for me and for anyone I meet. I’m on the run from the law, who think I killed my aunt, and from whoever did kill her, because they want to finish the job. So, I move around a lot, working construction or whatever job I can find. It’s a lonely life. I don’t let anyone get close...people who get close to me end up dead. Why? I’m a wizard. The world’s only wizard, as far as I know.

Publisher's summary
Who stands as the model of the ideal legionnaire?
Who in the storied history of the greatest fighting force the galaxy’s ever known shines as their brightest beacon? Who is the template for legionnaire virtue, the person that every leej who ever wore the bucket strives to be?
Only one legionnaire qualifies: General Rex.
The general has become more myth than man. More fable than real. The Legion he led to victory in the Savage Wars followed his example of warrior perfection and absolute duty unto death to save humanity while painting glory across the stars. The Legion was his legacy; it cemented the legend of Tyrus Rex.
But Rex also founded another, far less well-known organization: a small unit of shadowy covert operators who left only his invisible signature as their calling card.
Dark Ops.
Kel Turner’s achievements in Dark Ops could be the stuff of legend too—were they known to any but the few who witnessed them. So when the most respected operator in their ranks leaves the Legion, no one is more puzzled than the very figures of rectitude and honor he draws inspiration from daily: the flesh-and-blood operators Kel admires more than Rex himself.
Rex was the perfect legionnaire. But in a galaxy missing its savior, there’s one dark operator worthy of inheriting the title of deadliest weapon in the Legion arsenal.
And his name is Kel Turner.

They were the Savages. Raiders from our distant past. Elites who left Earth to create tailor-made utopias aboard the massive lighthuggers that crawled through the darkness between the stars. But the people they left behind on a dying planet didn't perish in the dystopian nightmare the Savages had themselves created: they thrived, discovering faster-than-light technology and using it to colonize the galaxy ahead of the Savages, forming fantastic new civilizations that surpassed the wildest dreams of Old Earth.

Thank you Doc Spears._
This is another wonderful part of Dark Ops. I am pleased with the evolution of Kel, along with the inclusion of his family. They are one of my favorite aspects of the series. Keep up the great work KTF.

I hope Doc reads reviews
Thank you Doc, and thank the emperors for giving you the opportunity to write within this fascinating world. Doc has other books outside of the GE franchise that are equally as awesome as the GE books, but he has given Kel Turner a different voice than other characters in the GE universe without betraying its essence.
Now if you’re reading this and haven’t read the last 2 books of the 2nd season then hurry and listen to this before you listen to those last 2 books. I was confused for about half of the book not knowing if I was ahead or behind the end of season 2. This book really should be right before the last two season 2 books. It rests there perfectly.
Thank you Doc. Now please write some more books in your Mars universe. They are superb and the world is ready for more.

Best so far
I tore through this quickly. It gives great closure to a lot of GE story lines, and fills in the gaps of others. I was surprised at the amount of characters and even major GE revelations.

Well done!
I have really enjoyed Kel Turner in all his books. I enjoyed hear a little more about his life. Thank you Doc Spears for bringing the “stories “ to life without revealing anything that could impact ongoing operations. Thank you and all of the veterans and active duty people who keep us safe.

Great culmination
After the end of season 2 GE left me feeling a bit hung out to dry, I loved this finale of the dark operator series. I felt that plots and characters were properly wrapped up. (Besides the extra-galactic bowl heads, maybe im just waiting to know more besides Sarah’s mission referenced at the end). I wish Kel got a better ending in ktf pt 2… Doc did a great job. Hoping the future seasons are more similar to this than season 2 of og GE.
