Love Josi’s culinary mysteries!!

Love these books!! I’ve read all of them and have a few favorites that I reread on occasion. Love the recipes and especially love the organized, crime-solving, main character, Sadie. I love the variety of places and details the author adds. I’m from the Portland, Oregon area and appreciated the VooDoo Donuts shout-out. Very fun!

a great listen!

the narrator was great and easy to listen to. The story was suspenseful and I couldn't figure out the killer until the main character did. It had a lot of twists and turns and a great ending!

Not a great narrator for the story

Really not impressed with the breathy sounding narrator, especially when doing male voices. Way too soft! n n n n

Loved it!

A friend referred me to Josi's series and I am so glad that she did. This book was more than I expected, it was not a shallow story. The book was not filled with sex or swearing, just a very interesting story about friendship, caring, and not giving up. I hope that the rest of the books are as interesting as this one. When I really like books, I will go back in a couple years and relisten. This will go on my "to listen to again" list.

Cheesy, but good.

It was a little cheesy and you can definitely tell the author is from Utah with how the main character acted. But the mystery part was enjoyable.

LOVED IT!

This is the 3rd book I’ve listened to in the series and I loved it. The authors writing flows so nicely and always keeps my interest. Can’t wait to listen to more.

not my cup of tea

The narrator took some getting used to. Her voice does go well with the main character, but the breathy quality was annoying, nonetheless she was good with differentiating between characters.
I don't read murder mystery usually, but I really like this author's regency novels and I like to bake so I thought I would give it a try. I will continue to read her regency and eagerly await each release, but I will not be reading Sadie Hoffmiller murder mysteries again. Her judgemental attitude and disregard for the law in a police investigation made me uncomfortable. It was meant to be funny that she would throw in housekeeping tips at odd times, but it almost felt like making fun of homemakers rather than defending them.
I don't really understand how I can relate so we'll to the author's regency characters but not to this one when we should have more in common, but there it is.
It is a clean mystery, not too gory. My mom recommended this series to me. She is the age of the main character and owns most of the books so it may appeal more to a homemaker in her 50s.

Good audiobook

I thought I had it figured out. Then I learned i was wrong. This was an entertaining story, full of both predictable behaviors and surprises. I enjoyed it
