Story
A blinding snowstorm - and a homicidal maniac - traps a small party of friends in an isolated estate. Out of this deceptively simple setup, Agatha Christie fashioned one of her most ingenious puzzlers, which in turn would provide the basis for The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in history. From this classic title novella to the deliciously clever gems on its tail (solved to perfection by Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple), this rare collection of murder most foul showcases Christie at her inventive best.

It's a mistake she can never forgive, so she pushes away Liam, the man she loves most, knowing that he would eventually hate her for what she's done, the same way she hates herself. Twenty years later, Abby's husband, Nate, is also living with a deep sense of guilt. He was the driver who first came upon the scene of Abby's accident, the man who could not save her brother in time. It's this guilt, this regret, that binds them together. Then, Liam moves into the neighborhood....

Story
The first three mysteries for Dorothy L. Sayers' aristocratic sleuth: first, a body is discovered in a Battersea bathroom, wearing nothing but a pair of pince-nez, on the same night that financier Sir Reuben Levy disappears from his Park Lane home. Then, Wimsey returns to England when his brother, the Duke of Denver, is accused of murdering the fiance of their sister, Lady Mary, and a trial in the House of Lords looms; and finally, an overheard conversation in a restaurant begins an investigation of the strangely premature death of wealthy and terminally ill old lady Miss Agatha Dawson.

Solid, Clever and Grand!
And not a formula in sight!
Snuggle down into these involving stories and go to Persia and many other exotic locations. When Dame Agatha went on holiday, she didn't fool around.
Highly recommend!

Those who want their Christie in smaller bites will not be disappointed with these stories — so skillfully characterized by Hugh Fraser. A multi varied treat!

Very enjoyable
I would've given 5 stars for the narration, but Hugh Fraser can't do a female voice to save his life. lol Other than that, he's very good. The stories themselves, I gave only 4 stars because, while they were all enjoyable (some more than others), many of them (probably none of them in fact) showed any clues to allow the reader to figure things out. While I love Agatha Christie, I do see that she hides critical information so only her detectives etc can solve things. I have a feeling that was a product of her time though.

Narration
Wonderful narration. Hugh Frazier’s voice is smooth, and an easy listen. He also captures the voice of Piroit from TV perfectly ! Nice compilation of Agatha’s short mysteries written over a span of many years.

Hugh Fraser is an amazing story teller!
Mr. Fraser brings stories to life... especially those of Mrs. Christe. This book was a favorite because the stories could each be enjoyed on my short commute!

Too easy to binge
A great selection of novelettes. Perhaps a bit homogeneous. Best enjoyed just one or a few at a time when escape from modern times is desired. (I’m afraid I made some waste of these works by binging. AC’s protagonists were too clever to allow me to stop.)
