Publisher's summary

Lt. Joe Gunther of the Brattleboro, Vermont, police force has a serious problem: in a community where a decade could pass without a single murder, the body count is suddenly mounting. Innocent citizens are being killed - and others set up - seemingly orchestrated by a mysterious ski-masked man.

Signs suggest that a three-year-old murder trial might lie at the heart of things, but it's a case that many in the department would prefer remained closed. A man of quiet integrity, Lt. Gunther knows that he must pursue the case to its conclusion, wherever it leads.

Open season

Good thriller, kept my nterest. Loved the narrator. Recommend book and author. I usually don't like violence in books, but it was minor and certainly set the tone and tension of the story.

The Rambler

The story line was good. It just rambled. Too many words to get the point across.

It was ok

It was not terrible, it was ok. It was just slow. I was kinda interested in the story but overall I didn’t love the narration or the speed of which it was told. Felt like it dragged on and the ending was ok but it just ended so no pleasant character wrap up or anything. I wasn’t too impressed.

Kept Me Up All Night

One of the most engrossing crime novels I have ever heard or read. Twists turns politics sex love power trips await the listener. The narration was superb. The plot plausible. The characters well developed. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Recommend to all.

Clever intricate story.

I appreciated that all the details were revealed in the story and the author avoided one of those annoying dialogues at the end that some authors write to fill in the gaps. The narrator was perfect. I enjoyed this book.

Good story ending was rushed

I loved the characters and the story was great however the ending felt like it was rushed. There seemed to be so many possible twists for an ending and it just fell flat
