This book is written for tennis professionals and for those who might want to enter the field of tennis teaching and become a professional instructor or coach. If you are currently a tennis pro and not a member of a professional organization, I strongly recommend that you join either the United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR). The USPTA is the oldest and largest organization of tennis-teaching professionals. It was established in 1927 and offers a platform for the exchange of ideas and for improving the teaching skills and business knowledge of all members. The PTR was founded by Dennis Van der Meer, who was a leading innovator in the field of tennis teaching. Founded in 1976, the PTR certifies tennis teachers and coaches with a goal of growing the game.
