Two For The Road

Apocalypse with no zombies? Love zombies but Spenser was a suitable sub. Invested, with no relief, in Clyde Rick, Cathy and Max. A quick and almost painless conclusion to a more realistic end of the modern pseudo apocalypse.

Good books

Books were worth the listen, I struggled with the narrator but I tend to dislike the female voices.

interesting take on a shtf book

though I do admit Seara really annoyed me. otherwise it was pretty interesting and not what I thought it would be.

So dogs that are really trained don't just "run off" and it's funny how all the action happens when they do in the first books.
When SHTF you won't be passing up any weapons. Surprises me how many weapons were passed over!

Mediocre with a poor vocabulary

The story is mediocre, on the plus side the dog addition is nice. I couldn’t wait for this to end, not only because the story doesn’t mention how the society got where it is, but DUE TO THE POOR VOCABULARY. Same phrases and expressions again and again… I expected more from these books.

Non-stop Thriller

I don't often do book reviews but this one deserves a review. This one never lulled for me. I found myself constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next. There are a few scenes that seem somewhat far fetched but it's entertainment at it's finest. I highly recommend this if you want a good 30 hours of intensity. THIS would make a great TV mini series!!

Meh

I really liked this book series at first but I started to really lose interest towards the last 1/4 of the first book. I was hesitant to try this book because the author seems like a man and I was concerned about the quality of the female characters in this book. He does an okay job but I really lost it when he described the main female character as wanting her husband back partly for “protection”. Furthermore he described another female character as being pretty without needing make up. The story also had weird and drawn out events that didn’t make sense or just seemed stupid. That being said, I probably won’t finish the other books in the box set and wouldn’t suggest anyone else spend the money on this series. Really wish I could return this.

Lot of answered questions

Too many loose ends. Should be a book of what not to do when SHTF.

Good but not great

overall it wasnt bad but the authors reuse of certain phrases drove me nuts after a while. I understand in a 5 part series you will.have to reuse a few but he could simplify or grab a thesaurus. Otherwise, I really did like the character development and Max was the best. You really did feel like you were living the stress and anxiety of the characters.
