Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

Story
The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

These 1028 poems, grouped as 10 ‘Circles’ (mandalas), have variously been called hymns, poems or songs by Sanskrit scholars. The Rik (so pronounced by the ancient Angirases clans, or Seer-Priest families) was an experiment with sound. The emphasis is always on sounding the words perfectly. The focus tends to be on the ideas rather than on the authors in Vedic literature, they are largely religious in nature, reflecting the world view and spiritual preoccupations of ancient India.

Story
The fundamental sense of the Goddess is behind all the major mantras of the Vedic seers. The mantras are her changes that bring the Gods to life. Her rhythms are mystical mantras and chants that unveil the names and natures of the Divine. She dances, and the Gods appear, as the narrative of her dance evolves. She is their hidden power, the actual inner force that operates without external display or personal attribution. This tribute to the Goddess is the foundation of all creative growth. In this book, we summon the seeds of Her infinite knowledge like the first rays of Dawn which ...

Story
If the Vedas are the cornerstone upon which all Hindu philosophy rests and the Epics the framework built upon it, then the Puranas are the finished dwellings in which Hindus live and practice their faith. The Hindu deities are depicted in Puranic scriptures in all their glory, religion and all. The Hindu deities are presented in their fullness, in intricate detail, and with theology unlike anything else before in the Puranic writings. This book briefly introduces the reader to the essence of the Puranas, and the vital role they play in bridging antiquated Hindu beliefs, scriptures, and ...

A massive tome on this specific subject would not even begin to touch the surface of the many teachings that make up Hinduism. Indeed, this short book does not attempt in anyway to provide a succinct summary of Hindu thinking; such an undertaking would be doomed to fail in the face of millennia of collective knowledge. Yet we shall briefly examine some of the intellectual foundations upon which the whole Hindu metaphysical philosophy rests.

Story
It is widely acknowledged that Hinduism is one of the world's major religious traditions. Yet, this is only partially true. Although while it is one of the most widespread religions, Hinduism really encompasses a wide range of traditions that all have origins in the Indian sub-continent. Hinduism requires a disclaimer because, although being a single worldwide religion, it is really a conglomeration of several systems that share certain characteristics. These religions also go by the identities Vaishnavism, Shaivism, and Shaktism among others. This book seeks to re-examine the evolving ...

Story
The Vedas include the foundational texts of theistic Hinduism, which are reflected in Vaishnavism, Shaivism, Shaktism, and other minor religious traditions. In the intractable pages of the Epics, Hindu beliefs started to really take root, and in the Puranas, their roots became more pronounced. With the works of the great early Hindu sages, they at last reached their apogee. The benefits of Hindu practice were developed on the foundation of this cumulative heritage. The most revered instructors of the tradition maintain that the truths contained in the "latter" texts are inherent in the ...

Under the Hindu Trimurti or Trinity, Vishnu is regarded as "The Preserver or All Pervading.", the supreme being who makes, preserves, and transforms the World, according to Hinduism. The highest form of the divine, the unchanging absolute primordial Soul of existence, is endowed with the purest virtues and has a specific form but is eternal, unlimited, omnipotent, omnipresent, and transcendent. Vishnu has both benign and terrifying facets and manifestations. He is often depicted by devotees as an omniscient being sleeping in yoga nidra on the coils of the serpent Adishesha, who represents ...

Graciously Informative/Insightful.
Thank you very much for this short free audiobook on the Vedas, it was very informative and excellently and professionally done/presented. The most lasting thing that left an impression on my experience of existence/psyché was that the Puranas are, in the most perfected Hindu perspective, greater or better than the Vedas. Thank you 🙏🏻.

Computer generated voice isn’t as impactful as a good narrator. I need to re-listen b/c I feel like nothing sunk in.
The overview was solid but could benefit from reinforcing the concepts via more practical or even historical examples to support the concepts
