Bookstore owner Aubrey Barnes likes his quiet, orderly London life, thank you very much. His shop may be struggling, his only employee is a menace, and his plumbing is one creaky pipe away from disaster, but he can handle it. Maybe. He cannot, however, handle the film company that's thrown his Soho street into chaos. And he definitely can't handle the charismatic American actor Blake Sinclair.

When fanfic writer Aaron Page landed a temp job with the creator of hit TV show, Leeches, it was only meant to last a week. Three years later, Aaron’s still there. It could be because he loves the creative challenge. It could be because he’s a huge Leeches fanboy. It’s definitely not because of Lewis Hunter, his extremely demanding, staggeringly rude...and breathtakingly gorgeous boss.

Looking at real estate isn’t usually a life-or-death situation, but an apartment open house becomes just that when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of strangers hostage. The captives include a recently retired couple who relentlessly hunt down fixer-uppers to avoid the painful truth that they can’t fix their own marriage. Publisher's summary
Jonah and Dylan get along like oil and water. Until a fake dating ploy gives them new perspective, and they realize that “falling for your enemy” isn’t as impossible as it seems.
There are plenty of words Jonah Collins could use to describe Dylan Ramírez. “Arrogant,” “spoiled,” and “golden boy” to name a few. Likewise, Dylan thinks he has Jonah accurately labeled as an attention-seeking asshat who never shuts his filthy mouth. Their friends are convinced Jonah’s and Dylan’s disdain for one another is just thinly veiled lust—a rumor that surges like wildfire when the two wake up in one bed after homecoming.
Mutually horrified, Dylan and Jonah agree to use the faux pas to their advantage by fake dating. If they can stay convincing long enough to end their “relationship” in a massive staged fight, they can prove their incompatibility to their friends once and for all. But the more time they spend together, the more their plan begins to fall apart—and the closer they come to seeing each other clearly for the first time.

I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident. I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed - her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should've left... I didn’t. I didn’t jump out. I didn’t get embarrassed. I relaxed. And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved. I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept. The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could've stayed forever, I would have. He became my sanctuary. Because - four hours earlier - my twin sister killed herself.

Danny Scudd is absolutely fine. He always dreamed of escaping the small-town life of his parents’ fish-and-chip shop, moving to London, and becoming a journalist. And, after five years in the city, his career isn’t exactly awful, and his relationship with pretentious Tobbs isn’t exactly unfulfilling. Certainly his limited-edition Dolly Parton vinyls and many (maybe too many) house plants are hitting the spot.

Best book Ive read in a while
I absolutely loved this book from start to finish. Usually theres some hiccups that I encounter when reading but this story had me engaged the entire time and I grew to love jonah regardless of his well written and developed flaws. Both him and ramz were such interesting characters and I fully intend to buy the hardcover because thats just how much I loved this story. It was touching and honestly felt pretty perfect. It was everything I had hoped for when I started also love the inclusion of so many sexualities and conflicts that felt realistic and grounded. Not everything can be solved easily but seeing them slowly work through everything is encouraging and helped a lot. Thank you author for making such a masterpiece.

Incredibly performed and deeply relatable
I feel like it's such a struggle to find queer romance novels I actually vibe with, and this one was a gem I was not expecting to find.
The story progression here manages to take a pretty tried and true romcon cliche and still do something fun with it. But more than the overdone premise, what really actually sells this book is the meat beneath it. Both protagonists are very well-written, with lots of relatable trauma that grounds itself pretty realistically. They think and behave like actual people do, which is surprisingly hard to find in this genre, and the tender moments really manage to hit home.
The vocal performances are also top notch, with Robbie Daymond especially hitting it out of the park. An absolute joy to listen to these two.
Honestly I'd have loved to give this a perfect 5 in everything, but my one point of criticism is that of the two protags, Dillon is slightly less well-written. His trauma, while grounded in a realistic situation, inspires behavior from him that sooooometimes suspends disbelief a little too much, particularly with regard to his brother. He's also given a slightly less satisfying wrap-up to his arc. These small points of contention do bring down my rating just a tad, but honestly, they're pretty small issues.

Just...woooow!!!
Hands down one of the best books I have come across! Your friends always think they know what's best for you...and in the case of Jonah and Dylan, their friends hit the nail on the head! The writer captured the fake dating and the fallouts perfectly. I did not want this to end. The narrators were a perfect match for this book. I want more!
