Story
In weeks after the September 11 attacks, 18-year-old Mansoor Adayfi was kidnapped by Afghan militia and sold to US forces for bounty money. After months of interrogations, he was sent to the US military prison at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, as one of its first prisoners. Like the nearly 800 other men imprisoned at Guantanamo, Adayfi didn’t know why he was imprisoned or for how long. He had never seen a skyscraper and couldn’t imagine what the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center looked like, much less how they were destroyed.

Story
Make a wish. The words have haunted Rashmi since she first heard them whispered the night before her mother died, when she was just 10 years old. Rashmi’s mother used to tell her stories of a magical garden lit only by the moon, whose blossoms grant wishes. For years, Rashmi believed the whisper somehow came from the mysterious moon garden of her mother’s stories and that her own failure to respond—to wish—may have cost her mother her life.

Playful with spice of politics
I like the playing with duality in the face of the reality or laws of the universe in terms of evolution

“Spectrumy, fearsome, and sexy.” This description of the goddess is accurate to this story. What a fun, intelligent, romantic, silly, deep, relatable tale. Not for the close-minded. I will definitely listen to more of this podcast.

Enh... It was alright
The performance was good, but the whole over writing "history" with modern takes, and values thing isn't really my thing. Gilgamesh's son Urlugal is over written with a woody Allen like Gilgamesh the second, and a bunch of lgbtq values are inserted with the main character just because, including a lot of snark. It just felt dishonest. Some people may like it, I just thought it was meh okay. Kinda has a lgbtq Mel Brooks History of the World absurdity (minus musicals), while attempting social commentary aspect to it.

Sophisticated narrative
I really enjoyed the delicate nuance of this story. This story also delivers a very valuable and important lesson about the dangers of all-or-nothing thinking without being heavy handed or preaching.
This production was far from perfect, but it's the best one of these short audio-dramas that I've heard which are included in the Audible membership. The performances were a bit too cartoonish for my liking. And the dialogue was often repetitive and clumsy. I feel these are small complaints but I wanted to include them.
I would love to receive more productions of this caliber in my Audible membership.
