A hidden gem

First let me tell you that the narration is some of the best I've heard. Laura Horowitz is now in my top 5 favorite narrators.

Next the story. It's unique and like nothing I've ever read. I normally don't read books where the heroine is in their teens (19 in this case). But the story sucked me. It's well written and flows well. There isn't a lot of "filler" like in other books where authors seem to just trying to get their word count up. I like the fact that the author let the female lead have true emotions and not some romantic fluff. The author reminds me of Grace Draven's writing in that aspect. She has created a unique world with a original spin on the Fae and their conflicts. Did it end on a cliffhanger as advertised? Yes, it did BUT the books are out on Kindle and I'm one of those that can read a book and then later listen to it. I look forward to reading/listening to more.

Bottom line: Worth the credit!

this book is *chefs kiss"

To all my Sara J Mass fans who loved Throne of Glass, get ready for this!!!!! the story is well written in a similar third person style and is Filled with swaggering royals, fea and vampires too! The voice actor is amazing and will keep you VERY enthralled! I definitely recommend this book and am so exited for the rest of this series (hopefully to come out this year according to authors instagram).

My newest addiction <3

First of all Melissa Roehrich is a genius! I have read the whole series… twice and I will absolutely read it again and again. If you have a plot hole question just keep reading because she did it on purpose lol. This series is cohesive throughout all books. All of the characters are given a chance to shine. Honestly 5 books and over 650 pages each and I still crave more!
The narrator is amazing! She has distinct voices for each person she reads and carries it through the two books that are out so far. I’m holding my breath for the next three audiobooks

Soo picky about my books and this one has captured me! Love the narrator’s voice too which makes it extra enjoyable to listen to. If you like Sarah J. Maas or Jennifer L. Armentrout I definitely recommend

Beautiful work

Female lead is perfectly snarky and have amazing character development while not swaying from who she actually is.
The story keeps you on edge and needing more.
I can wait for all books to be on audible.

Loved it !

Absolutely love this story. I wish audible would keep up with having an entire series available to listen to. It’s really hard when there is only one or two books in a five book series available. I have been an audible user for over 10 years. In the beginning they had more completed series available to listen to lately. It is more of the one or two only please do better.

Great but room for potential.

I like the book, sure it has its moments where you want the main character to rally her mind and move on, but critically thinking from a perspective that she is in fact a person whose been through trauma, dealt with others trauma, and had to endure more than others its kind of relatable. The world building is great, the fantastical background hinged with magic and races and a historical foundation of the realm is an added bonus. Although I am probably a low percentage of my kind that read this stuff. I see mostly woman read these kinds of books, but a straight married man can become interested in romance too.

FMC is so annoying

This story would be good, it really would. But the FMC is so annoying. Her character is supposed to be a bad ass but she is constantly getting captured. Throwing temper tantrums. Acting like she is betrayed, when she is not. It was hard to finish. The narrator was good.
