Publisher's summary

Virtual is reality.

What would the world be like if video game rules suddenly applied?

Marcus is about to find out. After a freak accident, he finds himself stuck between a game and the real world. He’ll need to fight his way through football hooligans, carnies, and the dreaded RNG to get to the final boss and save the world. Anything less means it’s game over for good.

Along the way, he’ll learn new skills, chase epic loot, and, most importantly of all, level up!

If you love light LitRPG, you'll be sure to enjoy this humorous take on the genre.

fun and fast read

Slight twist on litrpg, with a lot of office humor and much fun. already bought book 2. Hope the author creates more.

Loved it full blast!

When I started listening to it had no idea what it was going to be about, so obviously there were no expectations. I just finished it and sent links to all my friends recommending it. Even the epilogue is cool.

fresh interesting new style

I loved the new style twist on lit rpg stories. I love stories about in game events and also real world statement between characters, which this story touched on perfectly

Interesting concept

A different take on the Matrix, but with all the cheese. I enjoyed it for being truly entertaining.

Exceptionally amazing, with so many plots twists!

This book started you out with a slammed back story to get you in hopes of amazing... then quickly throws you in loops trying to figure out the story line. Character building is very solid, although quite the twist in the end. every MMORPG book! great read!

it helps to imagine it as a Simon Pegg comedy

seriously some of the performance choices are odd but overall it is fun and quick view it as a Simon Pegg movie and it is quite enjoyable

Can’t tell dialogue from narrative

The narrator had difficulty distinguishing a difference in speech between dialogue and narrative. I had trouble telling when a character stopped speaking and gave way to narrative because it was still being performed as conversational.
Loved some of Anderson’s phrases, like the mini-skirt/belt comparison. Great writing with everything paying off in satisfactory ways (even if the Black Ring story did have a predictable turn-out).

fun story but kinda thrown together

it's a good story about modern fears put to a video game but man is it sorta thrown together. the ending is awesome way to explain it but I don't see everyone getting to it.
