Publisher's summary

The must-read psychological thriller for 2019 from the million-copy-bestselling author of Silent Child.

"Your daughter is dead."

When Kat Cavanaugh hears the words every mother dreads, her perfect world shatters. She takes in the beautiful long blonde hair, torn yellow dress, and chipped blue nail-varnish. It can’t be real.

And then the police add the word "suicide". But Kat refuses to believe them.

Even when they show her the familiar looping handwriting and smudged ink on the note her little girl left behind. She knows her bubbly, vivacious daughter would never take her own life.

As she searches Grace’s perfume-scented room, filled with smiling photos, she uncovers secrets her little girl had been hiding. Secrets that could put her in terrible danger, too.

But Kat’s determined to find out what really happened to Grace on the night she died, whatever it takes....

This addictive and heart-pounding psychological thriller will keep you gripped late into the night.

Pretty good

I enjoyed the story and the performance was fab. My only problem was, mostly in the beginning, the main character gave so much detail about her feelings that it got boring. But once the story starts picking up and you meet more characters it gets good. The whole time the main character does make you super mad by her actions but I feel this with most books.

Thrilling!

My 4th book I’ve listened to by Sarah Denzil, did not disappoint!! She keeps me on the edge of my seat, and as soon as I think I’ve got the “who done it” sorted out, another turn comes! Excited to start another book by her!

Gripping and terrifying

This book is terrifying in a different way. This could very well be a true story for the most part. Great book

Relatable Crazy-Making

As a mom, I can only imagine the feelings involved with losing a daughter, discovering she isn’t who you thought she was, all the while assuming your own personality is questionable. Twists and turns keep the reader guessing but I did suspect who was involved about mid-story. Not sure if it’s due to reading so many of these kinds of books or it was obvious. Good read either way.

Story Great, But ENTIRELY Too Long

If this was shortened by about 10 chapters, I think it still could've been epic-in spots I grew bored. But ultimately worth staying until the end.
