Publisher's summary

When 26-year-old Reese accepts a position as a grad assistant, she has no idea an unpleasant encounter with a student will lead to the discovery of what she calls "the trifecta": fine, intellectual, and a little bit rude - three qualities she finds irresistible in a man. She has no intention of doing anything with that discovery - nothing long term, at least. But everybody knows what happens to best laid plans.

Jason is a grown man. Twenty-eight years old, seasoned, and scarred by his real-life experience in the world, he's at Blakewood State University to finish his degree and move on. The last thing he's interested in is the female population on campus...but sexy, infuriating Reese might be a notable exception.

This isn't a story of opposites attract.

More like counterparts clash.

Neither of them is afraid to do battle, and neither is willing to back down. Love and war, win or lose...somebody's gonna end up getting schooled.

Contains mature themes.

Loved it!

What a fun, sexy book! Loved the back and forth between Jay and Reese. I'm not big on audiobooks but this one was fun!

Can I Get Schooled By Jason?!!!

Christina C. Jones has, once again, proven why she has quickly become my new favorite author. Getting Schooled was hilarious! The characters are young, smart, sexy, cocky, and bougie. I loved me some Jason and Reese. They were the epitome of young black love once they got past their initial dislike of one another. I love how quick witted both of them were. There were so many funny one liners throughout the book. With Getting Schooled, you get a break from the heavy emotional crisis you see in a lot of romance books. It was a fun read without all of the drama. I didn't know I needed a break from books full of emotional roller coasters. The supporting characters were just as entertaining. Devyn and Ms. Imara were hilarious. I really enjoyed this book and I'm uber excited to dive into Joseph and Justin's story.

Finally! A love story with no drama.

all thebwhile that I was listening I was waiting for the drama that would signal their break up and one of them chasing the other begging to take them back. That didn't happen. Just good, old fashioned love and I loved that.

It's About Damn Time!

I've been a fan of Christina C. Jones for a while now, and I love all of her books. I already read the Kindle edition of all the Wright Brothers books and loved every single one, so when I found out that there would be an Audible edition, I pre-ordered with the quickness! The narrator's were awesome & not boring at all. All I have to say is...It's About Damn Time for Christina C. Jones's audio books. In fact, I'm going to need ALL OF HER BOOKS ON AUDIBLE! Yes, it's that good! Now can someone let Love Belvin know that she needs to do the same. Thanks!

Great Series!!!

I’ve listened to the first 3 books in this series twice already. I would love to see this as a tv or Netflix series. A movie would have to cut too much.

I enjoy a good love story

This book showed caring about another person and getting vulnerable to let them in. I lost my father at a young age, so parts of the story tugged at my heart. Great job Christina! This was another hit! Now I am starting the next one ☺️🥰

4.5 Stars

Getting Schooled is book 1 in the Wright Brothers series. This is a contemporary hate to lovers, college student, romance. Reese is 26, a grad student, and a TA for her mother’s writing class. Jason is 28, an army veteran, and an amputee who is working toward his mechanical engineering degree. He is in the writing class that Reese TAs for and before they meet face to face, they correspond about his writing assignments. That is where their banter begins. There is a ton of great banter in this book. I really enjoyed this story and their chemistry. This is the first book that I have read by this author and it won’t be the last. I look forward to continuing this series. The book is written in dual POV and both narrators were good. I listened to Getting Schooled free through the audible plus catalog. Overall, I give this book 4.5 stars.

Christina C Jones is well on the way to becoming one of the few authors in my favorites category❣️I love her sense of humor and the vernacular she uses to endear us to her characters. Jason and Reese are explosive together! Their chemistry and forthright attitudes were great to uncover throughout the progression of the story! Sean Crisden and Adenrele Ojo were PHENOMENAL narrators and brought the characters to life in my mind as if they were friends I personally knew. This was a fantastic audiobook❣️👏🏾😍🤩😍🤩
