He took up the brush and canvas as the first outlet for his artistic expression, which garnered him remarkable success from an early age, with his works gracing the walls of major galleries in Latin America, the United States and Europe. The social and political drama unfolding in his land of birth compelled him to write the novel A Shot in the Cathedral (1996), a Finalist in the International Diana y Novedades Literary Prize in Mexico. Other works include: Odyssey to the North (1999), a Finalist in the Independent Publishers Awards, A Promise to Keep (2005), Portable Paradise (2010), Waves of the East River (2017). His latest novel "El vuelo de la alondra" was published on February 2018.
