Resumen del Editor

The anti-white racism of the political left remains one of the few taboo subjects in America. In this book, David Horowitz, a former confidante of the Black Panthers, lays bare the liberal attack on "whiteness", the latest battle in the war against American democracy.

Horowitz acknowledges that America's political culture is the creation of white, European, primarily Christian males. But it is these very men and their heirs that have led the world in abolishing slavery, establishing the principles of ethnic and racial inclusion, and creating a society of unparalleled rights and opportunities that people of every race and creed continue to flock to. Horowitz points to the hypocrisy of this and challenges racism in all its forms, especially the hidden ones.

Reseñas de la Crítica

"Horowitz writes engagingly about contentious issues, particularly the politics of race....Horowitz is at his best when he uses the more glaringly fallacious arguments advanced by his ideological foes to expose their inherent hypocrisy." (Kirkus Reviews)
"Jeff Riggenbach does a particularly good job, reading with accuracy, expression, and appropriate fervor." (AudioFile)
"This is a raw and courageous book that turns over some rocks and shows what is crawling underneath." (Thomas Sowell)

You Won’t Believe What Year This Was Written

Horowitz’s clear eyed analysis of what was happening in Academia and the inevitable consequences, written in 1999(!) was incredibly prescient. If only more people had listened and understood we would all be so much better off.

Red hiding behind White!

The beauty of this book is it's publishing date, it's 20 years old. which makes David Horowitz a profit insofar as he explains and defines historical events 20 years ago that are not only relevant, but evident today. the whole race card excuse for every problem facing American society today is because of systemic racism! namely 'white hierarchy' supposedly suppressing others from advancing in Life. David Horowitz exposes the Lies from the left for what they really are, Communism ideologies! from his own experiences with the black panthers, to Washington's collusion with China. he also exposes the universities of America as Marxist advocates, and this is 20 years before many Americans even began to understand it! his insightful and heartfelt exposure to the left from his own personal journey is invaluable to understanding the Lie behind the myth of systemic racism. I think his own words about the sad reality of communism is this; 'A century of broken dreams and the slaughters they spawned' really sums up a brutal system of lies and deception that communism produces. if you want to understand the madness of our society today, than read a book that explains it from 20 years ago! fake racism is the fuel that creates hostility and chaos today.

Lost my concentration eventually

I enjoyed the first half (or so) of this book the most, in which the author rails against anti-white racism. His analysis is clear as always and he minces no words.
The second half of the book is about the ‘other progressive causes’ from the title, which in my opinion were fine as separate essays, but felt less a ‘whole’ than the first half. It also became more of a political feud between the insiders of his own professional life, which made it more difficult for me to care for.
In short, I zoomed through the first parts but started to lose interest and thus also my concentration while listening to the final quarter or so of the book.

Great History! Especially for Boomers!

I knew that David Horowitz was a former Left winger (like me), but he actually worked for the Marxist Black Panther Party & saw first hand their murderous ways. He personally knew Huey Newton, Bobby Seal & many others. A New York Jew raised by Communist parents who is now a staunch Conservative. I admire a man who can admit his mistakes! Something the LEFT still won’t do! a great read for me, having lived through the 60’s& 70’s riots & Marxist influence- which is repeating itself today with Marxist BLM, Antifa, CRT & wokeism! It’s time for a Communist purge, & we can start with the Democratic Party!

Engrossing

This is in part an engrossing memoir of Horowitz's experiences as a member of the radical left, in part a fascinating work of investigative journalism about the betrayal of the United States by three Clinton administration. If you've ever wondered how China caught up to the US in supercomputing and other technologies, the answer is here. What is really shocking is how few people know the truth.

Horowitz

Yet another excellent book from David Horowitz. An accurate portrait of the Marxist left and their use of the tool of cultural Marxism in the form of racism to implement their agenda.
