I recommend this book to ALL JESUS FOLLOWERS! My deepest gratitude and appreciation to Adam Kinzinger for his eye opening book. I hope he runs for office again someday. We need more Christians leading our country. HE IS AN EXAMPLE FOR OUR YOUNGER GENERATIONS TO LOOK UP TO AND STRIVE to be LIKE.

A Rare Display of Integrity

Not many politicians on either side would show the integrity we saw from Adam and Liz. As the quote from Einstein goes, what is right is not always popular and what is popular is not always right. Unfortunately, a majority of Republicans take what they believe to be the popular route when it comes to Trump. I’m sure many of them are intelligent enough to know what’s right, but their lack of integrity keeps them doing what they believe will keep them in office. Adam knew doing what was right would not be popular among his peers and some of his constituents. Knowing that, he persisted in doing what was right. This book is an interesting read/listen to hear his perspective of it all. I don’t agree with Adam on a lot, but if all politicians kept a strong spine like Adam and Liz did, we’d all be better off.

Authentic and honest

I loved this book! Having the author read it adds to it's authenticity. There is enough autobiographical information to inform without being overwhelming. The chapters dealing with the insurrection are revealing. It's interesting to learn about the inner workings of Congress, especially around that time. This is also a cautionary tale about what is happening in the country and what could be coming. I highly recommend this book!

A man stands up for Truth and the American way.

Thank you Adam for your service in the military and in the Congress. Your voice and guidance through these divisive times need to be heard.

Good Read

Continue to be amazed by what goes on in Washington the behind-the-scenes! Politics is serious business, but definitely enjoyed the humor. Also, not a history buff, so appreciated the background information regarding the various armed conflicts.

Adam provides a breath of fresh air

I enjoyed Adam’s acknowledgment of his growing political maturity and the new roles he has stepped into as a true future leader.
I appreciate the job he did on the Jan 6 committee and his forward leadership in strengthening democracy. He is the type of political leader we desperately need for the future.
Thank you Adam! As a Democrat who is concerned about the lack of civic engagement in America and the harmful actions of Republicans, Adam provides hope and is a breath of fresh air!

Not a Renagade

I marked 5s across the board, each of those who have written about their service to freedom for this great country are hero’s to me even if they aren’t necessarily of my philosophy in the perspective it in my heart country first job second.. if we do t have country then we do t have much hope for our own needs and wants. I can probably most identify with this author. All of the books help me see this time through their lives. They give me hope for the future.

I liked the political history

I liked the political history given to put current events into context. I don’t have a much political knowledge so this helped me make sense of what things mean more clearly. I will listen to this book again to learn the things I missed the first time. It was a great book for someone like me.
