A human, a dwarf and an elf walk into a bake-off…

In the heart of Adenashire, where elfish enchantments and dwarven delights rule, Arleta Starstone, a human confectionist works twice as hard perfecting her unique blend of baking and apothecary herbs.

So when an orc neighbor secretly enters her creations into the prestigious Elven Baking Battle, Arleta faces a dilemma.

Being magicless, her participation in the competition could draw more scowls than smiles. And if Arleta wants to prove her talent and establish her culinary reputation, this human will need more than just her pastry craft to sweeten the odds.

While competing, she'll set off on a journey of mouthwatering pastries, self-discovery, heartwarming friendships and romance, while questioning whether winning the Baking Battle is the true prize.

Escape to for a delightful cozy fantasy where every twist is a treat and every turn a step closer to home.

This puts the coz in cozy!

This was just a hug for my brain. Like a well done Hallmark movie you can guess how a lot of how the story will go but it still has surprises. Refreshingly heartfelt relationship and the characters already have me excited for the next in the series because I want to know more about her friends and future endeavors.

Family friendly fun that was perfect for a mindless work commute

My main complaint is the main character's self-deprecations. It's over the top and doesn't really play a part in the character's development, but rather just creates problems so the storyline can develop... which is a choice.
The resolve is, while predictable, lighthearted and happy. This is a sweet story and is perfect for a commute or something to listen to for the whole family.

Cozy and sweet

Cozy with a very anxious lead, so if thst bothers you...to bad, i just felt seen.
I loved it, Miniscule nitpick: had to get used to how the leads name was pronounced by the narrator. Was sure she said "A letter" for the longest time.

the story was heartwarming, so cozy, sweet and found family feels. also made want to eat all the baked goods and I will most assuredly read the next book. !!! Loved it

Absolutely cozy and fun read!

I absolutely enjoyed this book. The narrator is amazing and I love how she told the story. This story is cozy and fun. The main character I feel like is so relatable. She has talent that she is amazing at but has doubt because of her background and that she lacks magic where everyone else has it. I feel like her struggles are arguments that I have with myself. It’s a fun story with romance and I absolutely adored it!

Totally predictable yet a complete joy!

What can I say? I don’t think I was surprised once during this entire book, and yet I absolutely loved every second!

I had to lower my stars

So I really Wanted to like this story but OMG its one thing to have an insecure and nervous main character, it's another for them to be constantly Crying about everything and not try. it would be one thing if there was progress then back sliding, but most of the time the main character feels very one note.she can never stand up for herself, she doesn't even try. I appreciate that she stays in the competition and works hard but nothing else really redeems her. I get that the author is building her up towards a grand moment but it just feels frustrating. I do love all the other characters, and the queer orc couple, but the love story part is soooooo infuriating because of her poor self-esteem. Like yes, some people may truly feel this way, but as someone who has had and dealt with severe anxiety and even self loathing, and lots of therapy, I can tell you that there is more nuance and character growth and still the will to fight and try which this character lacks

Charming story with a whiny lead

A very cute story with colorful characters but the lead was very weak exacerbated by the reader who made her every line an insecure whine. The character basically was dragged kicking and whining through the whole story and was a general sad sack. The narrator does great voices but her voice for the lead was just to read her every line like a child’s complaint. That said the world was delightful, the characters besides the lead lovable, and the stakes enjoyably not too intense.
