Publisher's summary

Through hellish training, Arc became a hero—reaching the pinnacle of strength in the world of Arlas.

Arc was an ordinary young woman from Earth when she was summoned to an icy hell where she fought for her survival in the name of training to become a hero.

Now, after defeating the Overlord itself and achieving the status of hero, she leaves with the goal of enjoying her freedom. She arrives at Arlas, a fantasy world with magic and monsters, a world with numbers, tiers, and classes, a world governed by the System that summoned her.

She is not alone. There are other heroes, masters of their element, warped individuals who have escaped their own hell. And they have their own agenda, from taking over the world to even killing other heroes.

But Arc isn't any hero; she's the one who mastered the element of frost, the element of ice that can even freeze the sense of time itself. And when confronted with an incomprehensible task of broken letters—to fulfill her duties as a hero for the broken System—she makes her decision.

To live a normal life, fight whoever comes her way, and ignore whatever the delusional System says. As for the heroes? She will fight them, too, if they dare to stand in her way.

Join Arc as she explores the world of Arlas, a place dominated by the same System that summoned her in the first place, a world with classes, levels, and magic. Watch her explore the world and take on terrifying foes with her ice abilities that can freeze anything. This isekai series features a badass overpowered main character and intriguing worldbuilding. Arc's story has great character moments and exciting and satisfying battles with monsters and other heroes alike.

Story???

This feels a bit trampled, like the story has been told before and is told over and over again in this story.
I like a good OPMC, but what's the point of this story? There doesn't feel like there's enough background information to really be invested in the world she's in or the other characters. Hmmm... I'm going to have to think on this one a bit before I decide if I want to read the next one.

Generic Isekai

Not really anything new. Generic storyline for the most part. Op Mc, generic system, the characters are a little bland.

Failed to make OPMC fun somehow

Nothing new in the first couple hours. Just very cookie cutter junk. MC is a blank wall who lets people just push her along. Dialogue is just the MC contemplating what to say for 3 minutes then asking why cooked food is better than raw food like it’s some divine revelation.

In OPMC stories the main focus is always the MC and their powers. Arcs power is to… get this… freeze stuff oh and also shoot ice spikes. Truly unheard of never before seen stuff. At least it isn’t fireball I guess.

Grand displays of power are the norm for the genre. Amazingly detailed accounts of how the MCs attacks work and affect the world around them. They’re supposed to be followed by shock, awe, fear, and pride in the MC. In this book we get “She throws a snowball, kills 1000 monsters sieging a town, then the nearby humans call her a murderer and get really to attack her.” Honestly I summarized there and still think it was better than listening to the original scene.

2 stars because it’s a functioning product, with flaws.

Just go read any other fantasy book. Like seriously any other one. Or reread one if you have to.

Horrible

I can't make it more than 1/4 of the way through this dumpster fire. It is like a photocopy of a photocopy of a book that was already never that good to begin with. Seriously, this is basically the product of someone with no writing skill and no life experience reading a bunch of mediocre litrpg and deciding that, yes, they could make it worse if they really tried. What really put me over the edge was the super awkward and nonsensical character interactions and reactions. It is as if the author grew up home schooled in their parent's basement and never had a single conversation with another live human being ever. You have been warned.

Couldn't listen to any more.

I gave this a try becuse I usually like op mc stories. Unfortunately, nobody in this story talks, acts, or thinks like a believable person. I made it through about half of the listen before I realized I was wasting my time and gave up.
