Story
Hiral is the Everfail, the weakest person on the flying island of Fallen Reach. He trains harder than any warrior. Studies longer than any scholar. But all his people are born with magic powered by the sun, flowing through tattoos on their bodies. Despite having enormous energy within, Hiral is the only one who can’t channel it; his hard work is worth nothing. Until it isn’t. In a moment of danger, Hiral unlocks an achievement with a special instruction: Access a Dungeon to receive a Class-Specific Reward.

Nathan's life was defined by labs and lectures until an Archmage yanked him into Davrar and made him a tantalizing offer: master magic in exchange for Earth's scientific secrets. Yet, Nathan can't shake off the feeling that darker truths lurk beneath such promises. The world of Davrar is a dangerous place teeming with dungeons and monsters–ruled by levels, Talents, and a near-infinite progression of power. Fight, survive, adapt, and rely only on yourself. That is Derek’s creed and what's got him through the System Integration on Earth. Everything changed when the System came. Cute bunnies and beautiful butterflies became savage killing machines. Then the Invaders arrived with a single goal: to obtain ownership of this new habitable planet. War has raged ever since. None of this mattered much to Derek, aside from making living a little more perilous.

Publisher's summary
In a world of secrets, he who holds the answers holds the power.
Nathan Cheng, known professionally as Nil, is anything but ordinary. With his fourth consecutive game jam win in the bag, he has a lot of big ideas for his own game studio, though he lacks the resources to make them real. Even if he did, the gaping hole in his heart from the untimely death of his sister last year has left him angry and bitter. If only he could have been there.
When he wakes up in an arcane world with a system he knows very well, he’s given an ultimatum: defeat the dark king...or die. If he can succeed, he can return home on the day before his sister was murdered. The catch is, like every light warrior, he must begin at level one.
Nil must use his knowledge of the system to empower himself before he's overwhelmed by the armies of the dark. It's a good thing he has a perfect memory.
The System of Nil is a deep litRPG series where the game system is far more complex than it appears, with thousands of hidden secrets and mechanics. Every powerful weapon, item, and skill is gated behind tricks, traps, and unimaginable horrors. To prevail, Nil must be a skilled warrior, investigator, crafter, and monster hunter. It’ll take more than just brains. He’ll need a mountain of grit and guts. But that’s just fine. He wouldn’t have it any other way.

Unfortunately for him, his fate was sealed before he was even born, and it's way worse than working part-time in a coffee shop. Confronted out of the blue by a floating demonic eye, Max doesn't take it seriously, because who would? So when the flesh is ripped from his bones and he's hurled, screaming, into a fantastic and terrifying new world, he's a little surprised. When he learns his task is to free the daughter of the god of death who's been chained and tortured for centuries, he is stunned.

Story
For Hudson, the virtual world of PrimeVerse isn't all bad. It's beautiful, much nicer than overpopulated Earth. It almost feels like a vacation except for the volatile wildlife, lack of any amenities, and—oh yeah—the inability to log out. Exploring the world, learning his class, and leveling skills is all fun and games until a powerful rogue player with a vendetta shows up to wipe out Hudson and his primitive tribe. Thrust into a conflict he didn't create, Hudson is forced into a cycle of respawning where he learns that even death can be used as a tool. So much for that vacation.

Story
An experimental ASI with a terminal case of curiosity reached out and tampered with the universe in a way that it should not have, and unleashed a torrent of energy we would call magic into our galaxy. Humans, and every other intelligent lifeform for that matter, were ill-prepared, physically and mentally, for such an eventuality. In an effort to save itself, the ASI hastily created something it called the Framework to shape and codify this magical energy, and usher in a new world. A world of classes, levels, and extraordinary power. But also a world of monsters.

Good.
Usually very leery of authors voicing their work, but I did like his voice, very pleasant. The story was ok, although formulaic. I started to hate Shen half way through, constant whining and nagging. But I applaud the author for finishing the book and not leaving us on a cliffhanger.

A perfect mix of complexity and clarity!
"Baneslayer" by Tim Paulson, narrated by the author, is a litRPG gem. Paulson's writing is a perfect mix of complexity and clarity, and his narration adds authenticity to the immersive journey of Nathan Cheng. Dive into this gripping fantasy adventure where the game system's intricacies and Nil's quest from level one make for an exhilarating read.

started out strong
I was very interested in this book at the start but as I progressed in the storyline, I became bored. the formula/pattern was the same throughout the book, so it became somewhat predictable, and I remained neutral with my feelings towards MC, I haven't quite completed, still have about 2 hours to go, but I have taken a break and moved to another book. I'll eventually come back to it, but I needed to break the monotony .

Good
I really enjoyed the premise and storyline of this book. The author really knows how to write really compelling action stories that just keep you wanting more and more. The narration is okay, but for an author who narrates there own books. I'd say it's better than I would've thought. Baneslayer by Tim Paulson is a tale of fantasy and adventure following the MC Nil. He is a beast when it comes to fighting and I couldn't have it any other way.
The characters in this story are compelling with most characters adding much needed depth and unique personalities to the story. I feel like the female side of characters is a little skewed. When you read this story, you might realize what I'm talking about.
This story is captivating in its own right and it is perfect for newcomers or veterans of this genre. This story does follow some troupes of the Litrpg genre, but Tim makes the book amazing with twists and turns in the story at every little corner.
