Wish I'd have had this book years ago.

It is, at its core, a well crafted set of guidelines for mothers whose children are active duty military - both stateside and deployed - but beyond that, this book is a call for the support of our armed forces, and a reminder to the world that all military personnel are somebody's daughters and sons. It is written with the decorum and eloquence that only a military parent can provide. Thank you, to the author. I wish I'd had this book many years ago. And thank you for YOUR service and sacrifice.

As a fellow military mom it just made this life all come together, great read

A must for military moms!

This book answers a lot of questions about the roller coaster of moms whose children join the military. It is a whole new world without a manual on what all the acronyms mean or why scheduled are so tentative. Great read, but requires tissues!

Struggling Army mom

My son has always wanted to follow in his grandfathers footsteps and join the military. Little did I know he would go through with it. Now I sit holding the phone, praying that he will just text me. He is an Infantry soldier. It was hard when my father was deployed to Afghanistan but the thought of my child....this is very difficult and keeps me up most nights.

Elaine has made me laugh, cry but staying glued to this book until I finished it....Elaine, this is the first book I have completely finished in years. Thank you for taking the time to help other with your kind words of wisdom.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone, even if they have no ties to military life.
