Of the 1.3 million active-duty service members in the US military, only a tiny fraction are selected as “operators.” Shannon Kent was one of the first women to serve at this level and was widely recognized as one of the best. Shannon served as a Navy cryptologic technician, responsible for signals intelligence and electronic warfare, but her proficiency with language set her apart. She was assigned to a unit so secretive that its name can’t even be printed here, where she worked clandestinely to hunt the most wanted terrorists in the world.

From their origins in World War II, the SEALs have trained to be specialized killers with short missions. As the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan became the endless War on Terror, their violence spiraled out of control. Code Over Country details the high-level decisions that unleashed the SEALs’ carnage and the coverups that prevented their crimes from coming to light.

They know foreign languages and cultures and unconventional warfare better than any US fighters, and while they prefer to stay out of the limelight, veteran war correspondent Linda Robinson gained access to their closed world. She traveled with them on the frontlines, interviewed them at length on their home bases, and studied their doctrine, methods, and history.

Models is the first book ever written on seduction as an emotional process rather than a logical one, a process of connecting with women rather than impressing them. It's the most mature and honest guide on how a man can attract women without faking behavior, without lying and without emulating others. A game-changer.

Microaggressions, challenging family relationships, toxic positivity, work and pandemic stress, gaslighting—these are just a few examples of what psychologist Dr. Meg Arroll calls “Tiny T” trauma. Henry Wallace is the most important, and certainly the most fascinating, almost-president in American history. As FDR’s third-term vice president, and a hero to many progressives, he lost his place on the 1944 Democratic ticket in a wild open convention, as a result of which Harry Truman became president on FDR’s death. Books, films, and even plays have since portrayed the circumstances surrounding Wallace’s defeat as corrupt, and the results catastrophic. Filmmaker Oliver Stone, among others, has claimed that Wallace’s loss ushered in four decades of devastating and unnecessary Cold War.

A universal message.
I've followed Buck for a few years now while aspiring to enter into a career in the Military. Initially, I only followed him for basic "how to" information. Once he started to share his personal experiences I realized I related to his story a lot. Buck wasn't some D1 monster athlete that came from good parents then ventured onto becoming a Green Beret. He was the opposite. A broken person, filled with fear. He isn't afraid to admit he is scared. He just discovered that there is power in being scared, and doing it anyway. This is a message that anyone can learn from.

Exactly what the target audience needs to hear.
Sean knocked it out of the park in this one, perfect sequel to Rising Above. After this review I will be rereading this. Better Broken absolutely nails the interstruggles the "broken" contemplate in their minds. The contents spoke to me as if I was having a conversation with Sean, as if he was trying to coach me through a present obstacle in life. If you gained anything from his previous work, this book will compound onto it. Well done Buck.

A must read/listen!
This audio book was so much more helpful than I expected. Sean has a great way of relating to the listener by using anecdotes that are easily relatable. Not only does he provide theoretical examples, but also practical examples through his life experiences. If you are looking for a self-help book that is inspiring, motivating but also gives you a blue print upon which to build your own success, this is the book for you.
