Publisher's summary

In the number-one New York Times best seller Couplehood, Paul Reiser wrote about the highs and lows of falling in love and getting married - and the heartbreak and hilarity that comes with it. In Babyhood, he turned his sharply observant eye to the experiences of having a brand-new family. And now in Familyhood, Reiser shares his observations on parenting, marriage, and mid-life with the wit, warmth, and humor that he’s so well-known for.

From the first experience of sending his two boys off to summer camp - the early feelings of gleeful freedom in an empty house, to realizing how empty the house actually was - to maneuvering the minefield of bad words learned at school, this hilarious new book captures the spirit of familyhood, the logical next frontier for Reiser’s trademark perspective on the universal truths of life, love, and relationships.

Enlightening and entertaining

Paul touches on so many funny family episodes of life. I found myself laughing out loud alone in the car.
At the same time, not having any children myself, I found myself tearing up with his children’s accomplishments and growing pains, as if I was there sharing moments with all of the family.

Funny and Ohh So True!

What made the experience of listening to Familyhood the most enjoyable?

I listened to this book driving to and back from Idaho and it passed the time perfectly. I could relate to all the stories and laughed so hard. I have always enjoyed Paul Reiser's humor.

Great

Great story. I’ve listen to it many times. No one else could’ve read this book like the author.

Witty and warm, a pleasurable read

I'm a father of two sons who is also about Mr Reiser's age -- therefore we share the same worldview. Perhaps this is why I adored this book so much.

Even if you're not outfitted with such a similar perspective -- I can't see how anyone would not enjoy this book. His observations on technology, relationships, help give some perspective on modern life.

And he's just plain funny! I found myself laughing out loud - while listening alone to my MP3 player.

If you like Seinfeld (observational comedy), I think you'll love this. It's an easy read that is nothing but enjoyment.
