Gemma, vincendo la propria riluttanza, obbedì, e abbiamo qui un breve scritto in cui racconta un paio di mesi della sua vita. Il Confratello Gabriele a cui Gemma si riferisce nel diario, è San Gabriele dell'Addolorata, religioso della Congregazione della Passione di Gesù Cristo. Scomparsa a soli 25 anni, fu canonizzata nel 1940, in virtù di guarigioni miracolose che sono state accertate.
