Resumen del Editor
At the center of S. P. Miskowski's novel-length fairy tale are three restless girls, best friends stuck in the backwater of Skillute, Washington, in the late 1960s. Their neighbors and families are petty or poor, or both. They warn the girls not to wander into the dense forest. Something evil lurks there, people say. The girls are not convinced. During a playful oath, they wander too far into the woods. Their mistake unleashes a malignant spirit that terrorizes Skillute for the next 50 years.

Historia
The underground mine fires ravaging Pennsylvania coal country have forced 11-year-old Brigid Howley and her family to seek refuge with her estranged grandparents, the formidable Gram and the black lung-stricken Gramp. Tragedy is no stranger to the Howleys, a proud Irish-American clan who takes strange pleasure in the "curse" laid upon them generations earlier by a priest who ran afoul of the Molly Maguires. The weight of this legacy rests heavily on a new generation, when Brigid, already struggling to keep her family together, makes a grisly discovery in a long-abandoned bootleg mine shaft.

Tory Bodeen grew up in a run-down house where her father ruled with an iron fist and a leather belt - and where her dreams and talents had no room to flourish. In 1935, six-year-old Emily Evans vanishes from her family's vacation home on a remote Minnesota lake. Her disappearance destroys the family - her father commits suicide, and her mother and two older sisters spend the rest of their lives at the lake house, keeping a decades-long vigil for the lost child. Sixty years later, Lucy, the quiet and watchful middle sister, lives in the lake house alone. Before her death, she writes the story of that devastating summer in a notebook that she leaves, along with the house, to the only person who might care: her grandniece, Justine.

The Van Ripper women have been the talk of Tarrytown, New York, for centuries. Some say they're angels; some say they're crooks. In their tumbledown "Stitchery", not far from the stomping grounds of the legendary Headless Horseman, the Van Ripper sisters - Aubrey, Bitty, and Meggie - are said to knit people's most ardent wishes into beautiful scarves and mittens, granting them health, success, or even a blossoming romance. You can sense the evil
Being from the PNW, it felt like this was happening in the woods where I played growing up. It brought back the feeling I had, the campfire ghost stories, the fear of not finding your way out of the woods after dark.

Beware the woods, they’re dark and deep…
Story – 5.0 Stars
Narration – 4.5 Stars
“Knock, Knock" by S.P. Miskowski is about three young girls that go on a little adventure in some forbidden woods only to awaken something that will haunt their futures.
The story follows these girls as they become women and the character development is very good.
Once I got started on this story it held on. Tight! The pace was fairly steady with high points, a few shocks, some mysterious goings on, and a whole lot of weird!
The narrator did an excellent job. Her voice is pleasant and her characterizations were good.

Woke Trash.
Let me sum up. Men bad. Women good. In fact the protagonist murders children but those were bad male children. Seriously, not worth the paper it was printed on. Possibly the worst P. O. S. I've ever had the displeasure of reading that includes books assigned for classes from grade school through college. Oh, and it's not scary.
