Publisher's summary

Susan Tan is in her 70s, hasn’t dated in more than 40 years, and is about to go back on the market. Lucky for her, she has a very committed dating coach in her corner: her daughter Megan.

In Now or Never, host Megan Tan tracks her mother’s journey to find a relationship for her twilight years. But a lot has changed since the last time Susan dated. Gender roles are totally different from what they were when she was young, and meeting people has gone virtual with the advent of dating apps. If she wants to match with a partner, Susan will have to overcome her own insecurities and discomfort and put herself on the line.

Now or Never explores the contours of modern dating through the lens of a Baby Boomer looking for love. But it is also a guide for everyone searching, even when love feels impossible. Each episode features Megan’s interviews with dating experts–as well as her ongoing phone conversations with Susan–to provide an in-depth picture of what dating looks like now.

Prepare for heartbreak, romance, and everything in between. And remember: It’s never too late to find the one.

Entertaining and informative

Admired the honest and close relationship the author has with her mother and how it was portrayed in this book. Lots of great suggestions on how to navigate the world of online dating when one has never done so, and the truth about how challenging it can be at times.

Susan Tan is my hero

And so is Megan! Even though this book is about finding romantic love as an older adult, what really touched me was the dynamic between Megan and Susan. Also Susan’s straightforward, practical, yet still loving and hopeful and fun attitude. She’s got something figured out for sure. Listening to this book will make you smile constantly.

Encouraging

As a single woman who is currently using dating apps, this book was both a Bertha, fresh air and tool for understanding how you can evolve through the dating process. I’m a few years out of the game and hearing the stories sounded familiar making it easier for me to envision myself jumping back in. Thank you.

Words of wisdom no matter what your age.

This was very heart warming. It for sure shows the ups and downs of dating in the modern age. It made me tear up because hearing how Megan and Susan interacted it made me want to have the ability to call and talk to my mom. I miss having those close conversations. The only thing I didnt like is there are times in the beginning where it is super hard to hear and understand what the mom is saying. It eventually goes away. There are a few people I will send this book to listen to. Susan is all kinds of bad ass.

Great story and great story-telling!!

I loved this book!! I have been in the online dating trenches as a 60+ woman and Susan Tan’s story rings very true for me. The story is told through interviews/phone calls with her daughter as she steps out into the world of online dating. We hear the good, bad and ugly about online dating and relationships told in an earnest, open and honest way. Susan’s story resonated with my own experiences and I felt I had a comrade in those dating trenches.
