Publisher's summary
She’s trained with him. She’s hunted with him. She’s killed with him.
Now he’s missing.
After the loss of her mother years ago, he is all she has left, and she will do whatever she can to find him.
They had made a pact, a rule never to be broken: If we don't hear anything after three days, we investigate.
Three days passed.
Now Bethany must take all her years of training, all the skills she developed, and leave the place she’s called home her whole life.
What begins as a simple search and rescue soon turns into a violent meandering through the darkest recesses of the Pacific Northwest underworld as Bethany pieces together cryptic clues from her father's journal. Far from everything and everyone she knows and loves, Bethany must navigate this realm of secrets and peril—and for the first time, she must do it alone. Every step brings her closer to the truth but closer to danger. This is the way of things when infernal cults and hellish fiends are involved. Vampires are not forgiving.
Rain City Gothic is a story of devotion, betrayal, and redemption. It is a story of the human spirit and the lengths we will go to save the ones we love.

Story
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

It’s 1984, and life has changed beyond recognition. Airstrip One, formerly known as Great Britain, is a place where Big Brother is always watching, and nobody can hide. Except, perhaps, for Winston Smith. Whilst working at the Ministry of Truth, rewriting history, he secretly dreams of freedom. And in a world where love and sex are forbidden, where it’s hard to distinguish between friend and foe, he meets Julia and O’Brien and vows to rebel.

Story
In 2059, two vastly different groups of people portrayed by the compelling trio of Brendan Fraser (Academy Award winner), Luke Kirby (Emmy Award winner), and Vanessa Sears (Dora Award winner) undergo cryonic suspension. While their bodies are frozen, their minds, still active and awake, are uploaded into a massive quantum computer. The first group are all astronauts, about to leave Earth on a one-way interstellar colonization mission. The second group consists of convicted murderers and volunteers who elect to serve their sentences in a virtual-reality prison.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Okay! So breaking into my workplace after hours to steal money and then running from the cops, may not have been my brightest idea. But I desperately needed the money, cuz a girl’s gotta eat, right? They gave me a choice; go to juvie for eighteen months or spend two years at some fancy prep school for misguided kids. What I wasn't expecting to find at this prep school was my EX best friend, Oliver and his two friends.

All Dag Gates wants is a place to call home. (And to practice magic freely.) All Stefan Bjorne wants is peace in his adoptive country. (And less paperwork.) All Mikkel Vinters wants is both of them. (No, really, he could do wedding bells.) So why, pray tell, is half the magical community set on denying them all their wishes?

Story
Driven and efficient businesswoman Vivienne Alexander reluctantly finds herself at a speed-dating night after her friend buys her a ticket. It'll probably be a waste of time anyway, she tells herself. She doesn’t need a relationship to make her whole. So, when an alluring stranger with bright smiles and a riot of auburn hair predicts Vivienne will be in her bed by the end of the night, she’s not sure which is more surprising: the sheer cockiness or the thrill that shoots through her.

Spooky, Gut-Wrenching, and GAY
I listened to this book during a wintry road trip around the Olympic Peninsula, which perfectly set the eerie scene of the ghostly story. The action scenes were intense and the romance was tender and real.

Creative take
A creative take on the classic vampire novel. I’d just finished Salems Lot so it was fun to see a different kind of protagonist and villain. Romance was prominent in the story as were locations in the city of Seattle
