Publisher's summary
End the struggle, speak up for what you need and experience the freedom of being truly yourself.
Healthy boundaries. We all know we should have them in order to achieve work/life balance, cope with toxic people and enjoy rewarding relationships with partners, friends and family. But what do 'healthy boundaries' really mean - and how can we successfully express our needs, say 'no' and be assertive without offending others?
Licensed counselor, sought-after relationship expert and one of the most influential therapists on Instagram, Nedra Glover Tawwab demystifies this complex topic for today's world. In a relatable and inclusive tone, Set Boundaries, Find Peace presents simple-yet-powerful ways to establish healthy boundaries in all aspects of life. Rooted in the latest research and best practices used in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), these techniques help us identify and express our needs clearly and without apology - and unravel a root problem behind codependency, power struggles, anxiety, depression, burnout and more.

Story
Every new project (or job, or hobby, or company) starts out exciting and fun. Then it gets harder and less fun, until it hits a low point: really hard, and not much fun at all. And then you find yourself asking if the goal is even worth the hassle. Maybe you're in a Dip: a temporary setback that you will overcome if you keep pushing. But maybe it's really a Cul-de-Sac, which will never get better, no matter how hard you try.

Christians often focus so much on being loving and giving that they forget their own limits and limitations. Have you ever found yourself wondering: Can I set limits and still be a loving person? How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy, or money? Why do I feel guilty when I consider setting boundaries?

Sitting in Nedra's chair
I appreciated the boundary ranges this book covered, intimate and platonic r/ships, in-laws, work, parenting and co-parenting. The examples shared were relatable and the bonus was getting exercises to do.
This book is great for anyone with challenges creating and holding boundaries but would be an amazing gift for young adults age 20 and over, so they have a great start on this aspect so they aren't struggling at work etc.
Will definitely have a hardcopy these are gems that need to be shared.
