Excellent storyline!
Absolutely worth the wait! Excellent storyline that kept me guessing. And LOVED the other characters of the story - hoping that they weave in in future stories! Joy outdid herself - especially despite her not feeling well! Thanks for such an amazing book!

Not her best effort - could have been a short story.
I have read every book in this series and loved them. This one felt rushed and more like a short story than a novel. Missing the usual scene and plot depth that is normally part of these stories. It’s like she ran out of anything to say about the main characters. I hope this is not a new pattern for Joy.

This is best in the series !
What a great book. It took you through a women’s mysterious life who was once was a woman of great talent and ended up a bag lady to save her life. Matt and Liz are brought in to find out what happened. The series of events and happenings will keep you listening to the very end. The introduction to new characters brings life and vitality into the series. Can not wait for the next book.

Confusing bunch of characters
Disappointed with this installment. Too many characters; confusing storyline, and reader went totally overboard on sing-song accents.

I like her use of a two case mystery.
I have extreme difficulty with the narration. The main character, Matt, sounds unappealing and stiff with a pwriodic 1969’s porn voice. The women do not sound like women at all and it is difficult to suspend disbelief. There were times I found myself so distracted by the voices that I was missing the story.
