Character driven story, ship is just a location

Having listened to the other books by Catherine Cooper, I recognized her formula and while it was entertaining, there was no surprise for me. When we arrived at the big reveal, I thought yep, got that right. Having said that, it was well read by the cast, and an entertaining story. If this is the first book by Catherine Cooper you are listening to, you really will like it.

Silly, Flat, Lacking

This book has almost nothing to do with a “cruise”
I don’t want to spoil anything for future readers but this story is not at all what is described in the summary.
I was hoping for a sort of Agatha Christie style “And Then There Were None” aboard a cruise ship, with the infinitely mysterious ocean as the backdrop and the creepiness of a huge cruise ship to set things off.
None of that really happens here.
Yes there is a mystery, but it’s so drawn out.
The story is so improbable and unbelievable that to say it requires a suspension of disbelief is the world’s greatest understatement.
The whole thing is a mess.
I’m sorry, the narration is excellent (except for the horrible whining of the male character) because I’ve enjoyed this author’s previous books a lot.
They were excellent.
This book was not.
Save your money and buy one of her other two books instead.
