Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. Jin Rou wanted to be a cultivator. A man powerful enough to defy the heavens. A master of martial arts. A lord of spiritual power. Unfortunately for him, he died, and now I’m stuck in his body. Arrogant Masters? Heavenly Tribulations? All that violence and bloodshed? Yeah, no thanks. I’m getting out of here. Farm life sounds pretty great. Tilling a field by hand is fun when you’ve got the strength of ten men—though maybe I shouldn’t have fed those Spirit Herbs to my pet rooster.

Publisher's summary
Scarred by the Remnant Realm, Hump must reclaim his soul.
Hump and his companions return to Sheercliff City to find a region plagued by monsters—bad news for most, but for a hedge wizard, it's just good business.
With the gorger dead and the bond with his unhatched dragon growing quickly, Hump looked forward to some ordinary adventures. Yet trouble finds him as the Inquisition arrives, accusing him of his master's murder. It seems there is more to the old man's death than he believed.
Countess Daston offers him a way out—in exchange for her protection, his party is enlisted to fight the monster surge. Warlocks walk the city streets, and newly spawned dungeons threaten the city's existence. To survive, Hump must consolidate his strength and delve deeper into the potential of the Book of Infinite Pages.
The White Flame will be born.
The Hedge Wizard 3 is book three in a progression fantasy LitRPG series about a working-class wizard out to forge his own path and prove that one does not have to be Chosen to do great deeds.

Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year-old body on another world. His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster. What’s a boy to do in a world full of magic and so many, many hungry creatures searching for their next meal? Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

Well, there’s an old man inside that body, and he'll use everything he’s learned to survive.

amazing story
absolutely wonderful world building, and action scenes that get the heart pumping. could have done without the random romance that amounted to nothing in the end of story. sure the romance could come into play in later books, but why waste time with romance when you could spend that time with showing off the world, contemplating the gods, trying to figure out their glyphs, having fun with the interactions between the main characters, and looking into the trees (of spoilers).
the only saving grace is that the romance takes up only around 30mins to get through. which is not a lot sure but that time could have been put to better use, than inserting a quarter baked romance that had no reason to be there. this series obviously marketed to an older audience. an older audience that is here for the world, the action, the mystery, and the magic. not for young adults that barely know each other halfway through the story. having a date in a city that is being overrun by evil forces.
Overall 8/10 would have been 7 but hump is such a great character that he deserves a point just for himself.
