Resumen del Editor

Welcome to the Venue - a place where the super rich can get away from it all...and get away with anything they want.

You're invited to Caleb Hunt's wedding!

Sure, you haven't spoken since you two had a falling out in high school, but Caleb has gotten over that. He's a forgiving person. It was all a misunderstanding. He credits you with turning him into the man he is today.

He wants to repay you and everyone else from his life with an invitation to his destination wedding.

An all-expense paid trip to a luxurious resort. High up in the Alps. Secluded and private.

Please RSVP. It's sure to be a killer party.

The newest gleefully violent release from the writer of Intercepts and In My Father's Basement. Rollicking dark, twisted fun!

Till death

Intercepts was my favourite horror novel last year and venue is on the shortlist for 2020

This is definitely one of the most original Extreme horrors out there
Well narrated and a highly recommended action packed bloodbath

predictable but fun

This was one of those stories where we are able to figure out within the first half hour what the story will be about and who the good guys and bad guys are. That's okay, though, because the author takes us along on a campy horror romp with plenty of blood and gore. If you're willing to let the author stretch plausibility a bit to get the players arranged on the chessboard at the right place and time, you'll be rewarded with some unpredictability as the plot unfolds. A popular trope in horror is that mean people (bullies, snobs, bitchy ex-boy/girlfriends, abusive parents, etc.) die horrible deaths, so the moral of the story is: don't be a jerk, because you never know if the person you're being a jerk to is a psycho killer who will exact revenge at some future point. A codicil to this is that you might actually be a non-jerk person but a psycho killer might misinterpret something you said or did and target you anyway. I like that kind of irony. The narration was good, and it was easy to get caught up in the story (I increased playback speed slightly to suit my personal preferences).

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

TJ Payne delivers again!

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

TJ Payne is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors! This is the third book of his that I have listened to and it did not disappoint. What I like about Payne is that each book has been unique. Intercepts was a great horror sci-fi story. In My Father's Basement was a very intriguing character study of a serial killer. Now TJ presents us with The Venue - the story of a, shall we say, "unorthodox" wedding that only TJ Payne could conceive.

Right from the start you can tell that Caleb, the groom to be, is a bit unstable, to say the least. So unstable that he chooses to celebrate his wedding day by thrusting his ex Amy into a bloodbath. I don't want to venture into spoiler territory so you'll have to find the rest of the story out for yourself. I highly, highly recommend this book if you're a fan of horror novels that are somewhat grounded in reality, and I especially recommend it to anyone who's a fan of any of TJ Payne's prior works.

What Murderous Fun!

First off I want everyone to know that I was invited by the author to check out this book for free, but I'm not a politician, so this opinion is my own.

I've listened to 3 books by T.J. Payne and enjoyed all of them, this one was no different. The premise of the book has been done in some way, shape or form before, but it didn't make this a less interesting listen at all. I enjoyed the limited character development in the short run time of the book and felt like I got to know a few of the main protagonists pretty well by the end of it.

There's a whole lot of killing and gore in the book, so be aware of that before going in to this. Some of the scenes made me cringe and were truly horrifying, seriously. I'm not sure I'd actually want to meet T.J Payne and he's definitely not going to be my first choice as a baby sitter.

The plot was fairly predictable with a little twist at the end that might result in a sequel/series/spin off maybe? If there are more books T.J., be sure to hit me up as I absolutely love having nightmares. If you like horror, are looking for a quick read/listen that will keep you entertained then I'd say this book is a fantastic choice. Don't come here looking for Stephen King level descriptions and endless pages of gory details as you'll just end up disappointed.

A Chilling Horror Story in a Unique Setting

TJ Payne delivers another thrilling and chilling horror novel in yet another unique setting: a wedding!

This is another notch in his belt; he proves yet again that he is an up and coming master at writing horror. I absolutely and highly recommend this book and every book by TJ Payne. Can't wait for the next one, keep them coming!

Cut-throat story

This is the third book I’ve listen to by this author. When I saw the word wedding in the title, I immediately thought I wasn’t going to like it. Totally not what I expected. The author has quite the imagination. The narrator did a great job. Definitely for people who like gory psycho revenge stories.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review. Just like the other two stories I’ve listened to, I would not regret using a credit.

SPEECHLESS...

I don't really know where to even begin with this book. I have so many thoughts, feelings and concerns. I'll just keep it simple. Great book but read at your own risk as it can be quite disturbing.

Fun suspense with an entertaining premise

This was a really fun book. The suspense was definitely on point and the narrator had great pacing to match it. Really enjoyed the story and the general mayhem in every chapter. Play it on a road trip or buy the novel for an entertaining vacation read.

The Wedding From Hell

When Amy gets an invitation for her old friend, Caleb’s, wedding. She’s not sure what to think. They had been close once but had fallen out a long time before. She considers going but when it comes to her attention that her parents have been invited as well, she’s suspicious. Her parents and ex convince her to go though. When they get there, Caleb seems strange and his fiancé, Lilith, is even stranger. Then the festivities begin, and people begin to die.

TJ Payne is quickly becoming a favorite psychological horror author of mine. After Intercepts, I was excited to check out this book. And it did not disappoint. To me, it was like a cross between the movie Would You Rather and Ready or Not.

I wasn’t sure who I wanted to root for. The characters were well-written, and the plot was engrossing. Lilith and Caleb were wonderfully eccentric characters, but at the same time, I wanted to root for Amy. She was a perfect final girl.

Plenty of blood, gore, and suspense. This was a book I had to finish in one setting.

Narration was perfect for this story.

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
