valuable resource

I listened to this book as an outsider. I have a couple of friends that are still confused about their identities and are afraid of what the outside world will think of them.

You can tell that the author has poured their heart and soul into researching this topic. The author was thought in his approach
as gender identity can be tough for someone still figuring out who they are.

This great resource covers how to understand, accept, and acknowledge their identity.
This audiobook helped me understand my friends' perspectives and what they are going through daily. Truly a great audiobook

Let’s break all the barriers!

From personal experience I think there’s nothing worse than trying to fit in an environment that you don’t belong to and always try to act like somebody you aren’t!
This book opened my eyes and make me understand that we are free to make our own choices and be free!

An inspiring guide to self-compassion

This audiobook is a must-listen for anyone struggling to feel comfortable in their own skin, especially members of the LGBTQ+ community.

I was originally drawn to this title after my teenage daughter came out as gay. Even with unconditional acceptance and love, there is only so much guidance a parent can offer without additional resources (like this). Also, as someone who has struggled with self-acceptance myself, I found this audiobook incredibly helpful. The author's message is clear: there is nothing wrong with you. You don't need to fix anything. You have the right to claim your place in this world and to live as your authentic self.

Unhiding My Skin is filled with practical advice and exercises to help you on your journey to self-acceptance. You'll learn how to heal through self-compassion, how to let go of what others think, and why it's important to prioritize yourself. Whether you're gay, straight, trans, or somewhere in between, this audiobook has something for everyone.

One of the things I appreciated most about Unhiding My Skin was the author's honesty and vulnerability, with a warm and encouraging voice, like having a supportive friend by your side.

Major Self Identity Booster

It's tough to live in the world today. Tougher than ever because the world has become so small with social media as prevalent as it is, and it is more difficult to feel comfortable with yourself, as you are, because of this, even though society is more accepting of every lifestyle today than say 50 years ago. Self-esteem and self-identity issues are rampant, and this book is a great introduction for LGBT+ teens and adults.

It can cross over to anyone with self-esteem and self-identity struggles. It gives useful coping guidance for those starting to be open about who they really are.
