Berserk abound.

As usual Scott makes history fun. I felt for the guy trying to type up on the rock stone; been there, done that. While these stories are based on true stories it told like a Monty Python movie ‘it’s only a flesh wound’. I wonder if the Red Funeral inspired GOT’s Red Wedding, it was very similar. Productions is great, very easy to listen to. In the How to Train your Dragon series they always have meetings called The Thing, which always cracked me up. Now I know it was based with real Viking history.

Fun way to learn about Vikings!

I loved the narration of this book, it was funny and the stories were engaging. While this was a book involving history, you don't need to be a historian to appreciate it, it was light and kept the heavy parts out. I highly recommend this if you are at all interested in the Vikings and their contributions to history!

Entertaining History!

The facts are solid, while still being presented in an engaging manner. A couple of the accents were hard to understand.

A fun way to learn history!

We visited Norway and discovered the Norwegian side of the family has Viking roots. I looked for a book that could help explain that history to our grandchildren that wasn't dry and boring. While I think this book was rated for ages 9 and up, I wouldn't recommend it for children that young because Viking history, even in a fun format, has it's dark moments. I would heartily encourage junior high and up to give it a listen. It's a bit like if Hager the Horrible gave a lecture on the family business. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
