Entertaining but nothing special

It’s a beach read. Plot is entertaining but very predictable. Writing is amateurish. Nothing to write home about but worth a read. Narrators are pleasant to listen to.

Brr its cold in here

This audiobook was witty, smart and very very techie. It had me hook line and sinker right from the get go. It is a combination between outerspace and back on earth. Riddle gives us characters that you just cheer for and love all the way through the book. The story unravels just like the secrets that each character holds and it stays true all the way through. What an ending! I did not see that one coming and could not put this one down through the last two hours or so of the audiobook. Riddle mixes his imagination with what undoubtedly is some major research he had to do for this book and it blends together so nicely. I cannot say enough good things about this one. The performances were very well done it is duel narration between a male and female performer and they were both very well done. Each provides their own flair and unique way of presenting characters throughout this book. There is some mystery left at the end as well which will be revealed in the second book. I am so excited this has turned into a series. The second book sounds just as fascinating as the first.

Not your typical climate change story

This story started off a bit slower than other novels I have read from Mr. Riddle. But the character development was easy to follow and the story progression did pick up speed after a few chapters. Where as the beginning was didn't BLAST OFF right away, the ending left a whole universe of possiblities . As someone with a damaged body I want my own OSCAR.

Winter World - Excellent Sci-Fi

This was a really good story made even better by the dual narrators giving male and female view points. The story evolved logically with first attempts to discover the cause of global freezing then efforts at first contact with aliens and finally going to war with the aliens. I look forward to listening to the next book. Highly recommend!

I listen to recorded books in the car. I couldn't wait to go somewhere to hear this book and I hated to stop and get out!!!!

Awesome Change of Pace Novel!

Well written, well paced triller about the world's sun becoming cold. You'll sit on the edge of your seat not only wondering about the real truth about what's happening but also James's past.

Winter World A Must Read

Another great book by AG Riddle! Intense with moments of love and family. If you have never read any of Riddle's book you must start now. Everyone of them are page turners. This audio book was just as good because the narrators made it so real. Can't wait to listen to the next one...

Fun read

It seemed a bit slow at first but I liked the story and development and I'm looking forward to the next book. Overall it was an enjoyable listen.

Meh

Honestly, it’s... fine. I guess I was just hoping for a story told from both a female and male perspective to have, you know, two full characterizations. This is definitely a dude book... by about a quarter in, I’m not even sure if it would pass the Bechdel test. Our female character, who starts out strong and interesting, becomes merely a foil for our protagonist.

On the other hand, I did listen to the whole book because I wanted to hear how it played out.... But I don’t think I’ll be listening to the second book.

So, it’s...fine. There are worse sci-fi books out there—but there are plenty that are MUCH better too!

Haulmark TV movie like romance. People too perfect

As much as I was annoyed by the way too perfect characters mixed with some really unrealistic altruistic love story I actually found the book fun to listen to. I thought it was enough of an action science fiction story to make it interesting. I am not a die hard science fiction person but more sci-fi fantasy so unlike some readers I wasn't too concerned about the accuracy of the science part to the story. If you like some sappy romance in your books then you will really like this book - maybe equivalent to one of those romantic history books that seem so popular? I got the book on a daily deal so for the money I thought the book was entertaining enough.
