Nothing much happens: bedtime stories to help you sleep

By: iHeartPodcasts
  • Summary

  • Having trouble sleeping? Join Yoga and meditation teacher Kathryn Nicolai for bedtime stories where nothing much happens to help you relax and sleep peacefully. The stories are a soft landing spot for your mind. Rather than letting your brain race through the same thoughts you’ve been chasing all day, we are taking a detour to a calm and comfy place. We tell the story twice and go a bit slower the second time.

Our story tonight is called A Month of Sundays, and it’s a story about finding a way to make time for rest and enjoyment. It’s also about a tin box of recipe cards, a neatly made bed with the corner folded down, aunts and idioms, porch swings and school buses and the delight of one of the best days of the week.

We give to a different charity each week, and this week, we are giving to the Trio Animal Foundation; they assist shelters, rescues, and individuals by paying the medical bills of homeless pets.

Life changing

I listen Every. Single. Night. I used to struggle to fall asleep and dread bedtime as a result. Now I look forward to it. I love Kathryn’s voice and she has a gift for telling a story that captures my mind to relax and drift to sleep.

Like Medicine without the after effects!

So I hope this review makes it to the top of the list, as the first two were abhorrent based on bias! This podcast is so soothing and yes the stories are sweet and simple for a reason….sleep. For those who expect a piece of literature go read a good book, and stay awake! One of my favorites that stood out was ‘Front door back door.’ it has a really nice message. The whole series is perfect for what it’s meant to be. A lovely soothing voice telling a simple story to help you fall asleep. It works… and I’m so glad I found Katherine and Bob to help me with insomnia. Not surprising that she is practiced in meditation.
Thank you so much!

Good Sleepy Time

Lovely, stress free stories to drift off to sleep with. Narrator has a soft, gentle voice. Helps to wash away the stress of the day and quiet the mind. The stories are slow and uneventful, but there is enough detail and imagery to engage the imagination and hold my attention. Yes, this method really does help in getting to sleep.

Almost perfect

Love the stories and the reading. However I was just woken up by an ad playing. Knocked off a star because of this. It’s sort of counterproductive to sleep.
