Publisher's summary

When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.

Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn't be that big of a deal since Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he's still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I'm trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.

Boy, was I wrong.

Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.

Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs. But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.

Tucker might be my friend and roommate, but he's also my best friend's ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that's what my brain is telling me; my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

Contains mature themes.

I’ll revisit this book.

Ok read for me. I like some parts of the book other parts bothered me. I will reread this book at a later time, I think I’m a little distracted with the world in lockdown.

Adorable

This is a really sweet story. The characters struggle with letting go of past hurts but it's not the forefront of the story. It's a cute friends to lovers romance and it has some swoony moments from the Hero. A great pick me up listen.

Great story. Love Meghan Quinn.

Male narrator was awful. His narration for his own character was good but his other voices were ear piercingly terrible. Almost had to stop he bugged me so much.

horrible male actor!

Book would have been fine but the male actor was the worst I have EVER heard. (over 900 books in my library) Made the male characters sound rather like crazy, dirty old men.

Different but good

I laughed and cried so many times in this book. Loved the story line and can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Another great MQ book!

Tucker and Emma are perfect if you love friends to lovers, forced proximity, mutual pining and a boy stuck on his ex (who is her best friend). I did have some trouble with Tucker’s progression into realizing his relationship with Emma was more than he had with Sadie before they broke up.

When Emma realizes she needs a new place to live ASAP, her old friend Tucker offers his place. But Tucker is stuck on his previous relationship and might lose Emma if he cannot find a way to deal with the past.

Book is great, narration is just Meh.

I love this book. I originally read it and it's definitely one of my favorite books by Meghan Quinn. I love Tucker and Emma. They have such great chemistry and they're hilarious with their barbs and witty comments. The story line itself is really good, which I was originally nervous about because I HATE love triangles. However, I would never classify this as a triangle. There's never a third person who gets in the way, so if you're like me and don't like that, you have nothing to fear!

The narration is what threw me off of the audio. Amelie Griffin does a pretty good job. She's not a narrator I would actively seek out, but she's not one that I would stay away from either. My issues came from Rudy Sanda. His inflections were...odd? Tucker is supposed to be a sexy man and I didn't think Rudy's voice really fit that bill. He sounded like he was over-acting in a stage play. It just didn't work. I also hated his female voice. He made Emma sound like an old lady. It was just so bizarre.

My suggestion is to read this and not listen to it. It really distracted me from the story and I kept exhaling with relief when it would be Emma's chapters.

it was good.

I didnt understand parts of the story where the Hero supposedly missed the Heroine so much, but then stayed away an extra night at a friend's place? then says yes I missed u so much and I'm sorry I couldn't be here before today?
plus he wouldn't take her calls while he was away & she was reaching out? I didn't see the point of that it didnt make sense to me. if he was my bf i would be like?? huh ??
overall i liked the story & liked the narrators

I'm soooo glad I read this first.

I had read the neg reviews first and thought how bad could Rudy Sanda really be? So I pulled up another book he narrated and thought he was better suited to Andrew's voice from Co-Wrecker and Tor Thom should have narrated Tucker, he needs a more manly voice than Rudy. BUT OH MY HECK! his voices for Racer and Smalls/Aaron, it's like listening to the nerdiest men ever, like listening to members of DEVO talk. I've never heard them talk but this is what I would imagine they sound like. How are we supposed to fall in love with these guys as the heros of their own two books? I could never take this seriously if this is how their voices are portrayed coming up. And honestly Rock Engle isn't much better for Smalls/Aaron.

The story line is ok, we already know what type of girl Emma is, a doormat. I hurt for Tucker throughout this book, but if there's a girl made for someone who loves another and it takes forever for him to let that go, it's Emma. Again, doormat.

Sadly the nasally voice of Rudy reeeeeally kills the audio. I'd stick with reading this.
