He seemed perfect. But he was a liar . . .

Sarah is in a loving relationship with Paul, a man she hopes to one day marry and start a family with, until his untimely death turns her world upside down.

Trying to come to terms with her loss, Sarah finds comfort in looking through Paul's old things, including his laptop and his emails. But after finding something troubling, Sarah begins to discover things about her late partner that she never knew before, and it seems he wasn't as perfect as she thought. As she unravels more about his secretive past, she ends up learning things that not only break her heart, but that the police would be interested to know too.

But it's only when she keeps digging that she realizes that some of these secrets are also shared by people who are still alive. And they will do anything to keep them hidden . . .

He was a liar. And now she is in danger . . .

Good

Good short story and not too full of twists like a lot of his other books!

Not a big Wow!

The story was ok, though their weren’t many twists. Predictable. The narrator was too dramatic in her reading. Sounded a lot like what a female Count Dracula would sound like. Too much play by play wording, like “I opened the car door, I then got in and then I started the car and then I drove off” This is only a small example of this type of unnecessary detail throughout. I could almost see the back of my skull from all the eye rolling I did throughout. It didn’t even find the story that interesting until the last few chapters. Don’t get me wrong. I have loved all of Daniel Hurst’s books so far. He is an excellent mystery author and I intend to keep reading his books. I actually moved on to another book because I was so bored. I hate to leave anything unfinished to I did finish it a few days later.

Good story but the ending fell short

Narration was well-read and acted. Too slow to start, I wanted more sooner. Still, it was a good story. Sarah was a great main character, but her biggest problem was being too nice to her sister who didn't have as much strength of character as she did, with tragic results. Her sister just couldn't act on what she knew which was truly bothersome. Even with with all she learns, she is contemplating keeping it to herself. That was perplexing, to say the least, even after all it had cost so many people.

Thank goodness for Calvin the immature but amazing computer guy.

I wasn't happy with the ending in this one, it brought it down a big notch.

So repetitive and boring

I feel like I just read an English assignment written by a lazy high school student that needed to make the 5000 word count so just kept repeating the same thing over and over and over. Awful characters, bad storyline and two completely stupid sisters. Waste of a credit.
