The Demon Dog Scores

An excellent podcast, highly recommend it. He breathes life into these cases. Buckle up, it’s quite the ride!

Irritating delivery

His delivery is sophomoric. The intro long and sounds fake 1950’s. Doesn’t set the mood for a good murder mystery.

But I must say, the stories are interesting.

One more thing. Soundtrack gets in the way, as well.

Compelling

There is a hellhound on the trail of the author, the ghost of his mother’s unsolved murder. Will he be able to track down the man who murdered her? That would be telling. But the author’s way with words, the twin forces of anger and his passion for justice carry the listener his anger through a twining journey through the unpretty world of the poor and the criminal.

Got old fast

I enjoyed the initial reports on the Kupcinet case; the fast tempo and jazzy background made for an exciting listen. But the style got old fast, and the sound guy should have tamped down the victims’ screams, which were way too loud for my AirPods, anyway.
I made it through the poor high school kid’s murder, and onto Sal Mineo, but I finally had enough of anguish and histrionics etc

Sick

JE tells the story with little respect for anyone in it and keeps with the same rumors of different Hollywood actors like James Dean whom he referred to as The Human Ashtray. A nickname given to him years after his death by people that only claimed to know him. Anyone can see in the many shirtless photos of JD that he had no such habit of having cigarettes put out on his chest. Ellroy is a loser.

Crude

Language was very crude making it hard to listen to. The facts were jumbled and too much unimportant information making it hard to understand the story. Will not be listening to season 2
