    Nov 24 2020

The investigation of alleged KGB Spy Richard W. Miller - code named Operation Whipworm - is missing a smoking gun. Hundreds of agents, thousands of man hours, all under absolute secrecy, and still no ironclad proof that Miller is a spy. That changes when Miller and Svetlana buy tickets to Vienna for a meeting with the Soviets. Now, the FBI has 16 days to nail its suspects. But as the Bureau gets ready to close in, Miller does the one thing they never expected.

Miller was on the Soviet Counterintelligence squad, but just barely. After years of screwups he wasn’t the most popular agent. This was his chance to turn things around. American History Made Radio Drama

This was an amazing retelling of the Richard W. Miller case and his story. I truly enjoyed the personal details of how each historical figure involved had a level of humanity to them and were tragically flawed. Excellent audio quality, truly rich in historical fact, and expertly composed.

captivating!

This story is so well written! It's like the author is pulling on a thread to unravel the story and with each pull, something different is exposed.

Amazing story! I had no idea this happened!

What a cool true story! I love the way it is told and how you don’t know if he’s really a double agent or not! This should be a movie.

A little longer than needed, but still enjoyable

The episode format meant that periodically bits of the story were repeated in multiple episodes, and I generally felt like it could have been told in a few fewer episodes, however it wasn’t egregious and kept me engaged.

Complicated but Very Interesting

I'm not the smartest tool in the shed but I found it hard to keep up with. That could have been my fault. However, I found myself wanting to keep listening. It was fascinating, sad, amazing, unbelievable and supposedly true. I loved it.

Fascinating Account of the Spy Trial

This was a podcast about an FBI agent who was put on trial for espionage. A tangled web of sex, lies and misinformation and the "Mormon Mafia" in the FBI ensues. Actors voice various people involved. Miller himself was complex and an unlikely suspect. Excellently produced with a great cast and fascinating narrative, this is a must listen for true crime lovers. The damage done was not what you would expect. A riveting listen.

Very Interesting story, well narrated.

The time-shifting threw me off a bit sometimes but that may just be me. The story type could have dragged but didn't and I thought the narration was top notch. I'll listen to it again in the future.

Great listen

I really enjoyed this podcast. It was well produced and well told. If you enjoy a twisting and turning thread of a story, give it a listen.

Repetitive at best

After episode three you hear the entire story all over again. They must have gotten paid per episode. After episode five I just skipped on to the epilogue.
