However, Audible's description mentions the author's commentary on the text as being particularly good, but none of it is even included. That's why I bought this! Disappointed. Plus, the narrator really sounds like he's reading—not as good as most of the audiobook readers I'm used to, but acceptable nevertheless.

Robotic reading
If it was revealed that an AI read this version of La Vita Nuova, I would not be surprised. Mr. Lundeen is clear and precise in his enunciation, but he has no feel for human emotions or Dante's poetry. It sounds like a manual being read aloud.
