Resumen del Editor

Drs. Barbara Oakley and Terrence Sejnowski's popular Online course Learning How to Learn, based on Dr. Oakley's best-selling book A Mind for Numbers, has enrolled more than 1.8 million students from more than 200 countries. In this much needed follow-up to A Mind for Numbers, the authors teach kids and teens how to learn effectively at a time when they most need these skills.

Learning How to Learn teaches them about the importance of both focused concentration and letting their minds wander, how the brain makes connections between different pieces of information, the value of metaphors in developing understanding, why procrastination is the enemy of problem solving, and much more. Filled with application questions and exercises, this audiobook makes learning engaging and accessible.

Very good book

It's a good book to learn different learning techniques, however, probably very oriented to kids and teens instead of adults. I'm 28 years old and not too long ago I heard about Pomodoro technique in a very simple and precise way. In this book the author goes to the point after sneaking around for a while with different stories.

Good information

While good it should be updated. Some of the lectures the authors have done since the release of this book contain updated information and metaphors. I think the book should have these updates.

Great book to read, if you’re looking to improve you’re learning ability!

This book is a great read. There are a lot of take away for some one of any age. I’m 27 and I’m currently going back to school to become an engineer. This book has been an amazing resource for me. Learning to learn should be the first thing a person learns! Happy learning!

In combination with Cal Newport's Deep Work and Scott Young's Ultralearning, this book is unstoppable

I first learned about Barbara Oakley and Scott Young's book ultra learning. it was here that I got introduced to ideas like deliberate practice active recall transfer interleaving, brain links, space repetition, and many other interesting concepts.

this book was on my reading list for some time and I'm glad I finally got to it. learning how to learn is an incredibly useful book that packs a lot knowledge into it.

this is the equivalent of switching your knowledge engine from a 1994 Honda to a ferrari. he basically learn how to learn anything in the most efficient way which is the most you could expect from a book about learning. once you learn how to focus direct your attention study using space repetition and active recall get a good night's sleep and you understand the Neuroscience behind brain links and interleaving he can pretty much learn anything. as a complimentary book I'd recommends Carroll to X mindset, to really understand the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. kudos to Barbara Oakley for writing an incredible book!

Very good

I thought this was a very good book and resource. I am having my teenage son read this little by little. The book is easy enough to read and understand. To the point and tips can easily be implemented if desired. Would definitely recommend for those that need to learn how to learn
